Try burning the same disc at a slower burn speed and see if that makes any difference.

When I burn at the fastest speed the burner supports I sometimes have problems. But if I slow the burn speed to 16x or even 8x these issues will often go away.

Yank it and throw it in the trash or sell it on Ebay. Then get one of these or similar for $150. No CD's, no moving parts, no problems.........

Also try changing the software you use to burn discs. For example I find that using MusicMatch/Yahoo Jukebox to burn CDs are terrible for the Shaker but using Sonic works flawlessly for me everytime.

i will try the slow burn

Maybe also, try a different Brand of CD-R. I've been using Samsung with no problems. At least try a couple different brands and see if that does it........

Agreed here. I had the same problems until I switched to a better quality disc and now I don't have any problems at all.

I've got to admit that my Shaker 500 was starting to skip more and more on my 05 V6 when I traded it in.

The one in my 08 seems to work like a champ. And has some cool chrome accents to it. So, maybe......

Trade it in on a 08 GT?

Keep your wheels though!

lol...no trade for me, you know how much crap i would get for that reason

i allready traded one off (98) when i took it in for a headlight switch replacement

i tried a higher quality CD - Sony and a slower burn speed, 1st disc works great, 2nd one gave me a "Bad Disc" instantanious, however i re loaded it and works like a champ *Knock on wood*

thanks guys

OK, glad to hear it. If it happens again, maybe try a different brand of disc.

However I think the Shaker 500 in 2005 had some bugs in them. I think they got most of them out in the three years between my 05 V6, and my 08 GT. so, this could happen again.

I think the best way to go would be a new head unit with a memory card slot in it as described above. No moving parts, no CD changer, in fact no CD!
