I downloaded this pic back in August and I can't remember who it belongs to.
Any ideas?

I wanted to ask about the tail light bezels. They don't look like any of the ones I've seen.

EDIT: Looks like they might be painted.

The lights look great. I'd love to get info on the inserts. That would look great on mine because I have the back painted black as well.

That's #6FAN's car. I did a forum search using "Pinnacle" and got lucky and found it pretty quick. The pic you saw in is the Mineral Grey Registry thread. And yes, the taillights are painted. He removed them, masked and sprayed them with semi-gloss black.

I used the peel & stick trim pieces I got off eBay on mine...

Agreed. Although the latter provides simple removal if you dont like it, I'm going with option #2 myself.

Good point. And that's probably why I haven't done it yet.
I hate not be able to un-do a mod.

Yeah, but if the mods done right, why would you ever need to undo it?

How long is regular spray paint going to last?

I did the same thing on my Acura's windshield wiper blades that were losing color. They weathered pretty quickly and I prepped them very well before painting.

Are you using any kind of clear coat?

I dont know how long it will last. I did choose a paint that is "made for plastic" and "outdoor use" so we will see. I did not use a clear coat.

Here's the finished product

Thanks, Chris. Great pics!

As for how long it'll last, I painted the bumper of a black '88 (you know where the yellow starts showing through) and it lasted 5 years.

awesome If you decide to do it, my only tip is take all the time in the world to mask... and mask with small pieces
