I thought between steps 5 & 6 you were supposed to honk your horn to the tune of Yankee Doodle Dandy in a 3/4 tempo, then tap the brake peddal (more than 11/32 compressed but less than 25/64) 7 times at 1.5 second intervals, then slide the seat all the way back, then all the way up, then all the way forward, then all the way down, then return to the middle, then honk the horn again 1 time using your left elbow.

Btw on my company car (which is not a Mustang but a Renault) I managed to kill the beep mechanically. I have absolutely no clue if the beep circuit on the Stang works the same way, but maybe it does. Those who like to find out how I did it go here...

CONTRA!!! Old Nintendo game, the trick gave you 30 lives. Everybody who owned Nintendo had Contra. But for me it went like this:

up up down down left right left right b a select start

you pressed select for 2 players

It really really does work! Its so awesome, especially in the truck. Our driveway is super long, and going just between the house and the barn in the truck, we dont put on the seatbelt, and I hated that belt minder ding donging! No more problem! There is a similar procedure I found to disable the automatic locking of the doors, if anyone is interested.

It looks crazy on paper, all the steps, but when you sit down to do it, its really not that bad. Trust me! You must try it if you dont like the ding dong. B)

Isn't the automatic locking only on the automatics, thought I read that in the owner's manual.

Putting your seatbelt on will also make it stop, seems alot easier to do that then that crazy way to turn it off.

Like I said, our driveway is really long, and I have to get out at the gate to open / close it, get mail. No use in putting my seatbelt on to go up the driveway, but I dont wanna listen to that racket! Thats why. B)

Thumbs up

In my 2003 F-150 Super Crew I just push the red "release" button and the alarm shuts off. Have you tried that??
