I factory ordered a 2006 GT Premium, loaded (minus shaker 1000), 18" fanblades, on 1/4/2006. Price was invoice + 250 doc fee (got it down from $399 - ridiculous here in NC). I was extremely happy and surprised at this price. Did I get lucky or are we starting to see GT's at or close to invoice? (I had invoice deal ready to go on a V6 since September, so I know those deals are common).

By invoice do you mean dealer invoice or MSRP? If you got it at dealer invoice you got a good deal. If you paid MSRP, then you didn't. Of course, this depends on the area you live. I ordered my '05 GT Vert at almost $1000.00 below MSRP back in March 2005 when GTs, especially GT Verts, were in short supply. Now that was a deal! My dealer now has around 10 '06 GTs on their lot, which is unsual since they are a low volume (Mustang) dealer. The demand around here has dropped significantly, so we don't see ADM or MSRP sales.

I had $350 knocked off msrp. I ordered in June, took delivery in early Oct. I went to one dealer last spring, they found me a GT for 12000 over msrp. Not a typo, twelve thousand dollars over msrp, and was told I would never be able to get a GT. Can't say here what I think of them.

Congrats on getting a good deal!

Here in the DFW, TX area, I noticed all the dealers I checked would not go any lower than $28,000, on any GT. I only wanted the most basic GT avail, which I believe MSRP's for around $25K. Of course I'm not in a financial position to argue that much! So I just searched and found a used one for $23k that even had the spoiler delete I wanted, and only 1,500 miles. :headbang:

X-plan got the price to be $30 under DI.
OTD price before handling kit costs was just barely 1K over MSRP.

The X-plan knocked about $2,000 off MSRP and was a few bucks below dealer Invoice.
You can see my options in sig.
