I order my 2005 GT 11-12-2004. Talked to dealer last Tuesday, he said it was in buck (what ever that means). Anyway has anyone been waiting as long as me?

26 November 2004 is when the dealer placed the order, although I gave them the deposit on 25 September, 2004. If your order has been bucked I believe that means that it is in the production cycle at autoalliance. My mustang is being produced the week of 04-08 April, 05.

December 16th - still C / U. I did order from a small town dealer - who didn't try and screw me like the larger suburban dealers, so I am probably paying the price for a cheaper price (so to speak). I probably could've saved the extra $3,000 over sticker the city dealers wanted by now!

Called the robot lady on Monday. She said "as of Apr. 2, build date Mar. 28". I wonder if my GT is already built??? If so I wonder how long it will take to get to my dealer??? Could it be, I might have my car this month.......HaHaHa I'm not getting my hopes up....................

I ordered 12/6 also, so I understand where you are coming from, but may I ask why it doesn't count if you already have a build date?

Just because you have a build date doesn't mean your wait is over. My build week was 3/21 and the car wasn't built until 3/30. You'll see, the wait gets even harder when you know it's actually a built car and you can't even see or drive it yet and you don't even know where your "baby" is. It ain't here til it's here. My ETA is tomorrow and I'm going crazy waiting for it.

I really do hope you get scheduled soon! Hang in there, it'll be worth the wait, at least that's what I've been told my so many on this site.

Again, I reiterate, I am glad for anyone that gets out of C / U, but it is hard to see folks who've ordered one or two months after me and they are getting built. Mine is one of only two orders from a small dealer in Kansas, so maybe the size of the dealership or the fact that the bulk of orders up until recently, were going to Southern or sunshine states...

At this point I would be seriously concerned about being C/U. Ford has way oversold the GT's and doesn't appear that everyone is going to get one.

I can't imagine anything worse than ordering an 05 model car and 04 then not getting it at all. I think that I would just shoot myself.

I also understand about having a build date and not having your car yet. You know it is out there and soon to be born. The reality that is might actually come is sinking in. However, you are wondering if this is yet another cruel joke that Ford is playing on you just so they could jerk your chain just a little longer.

Ordered 12/30
First Build Date 4/4
Second Build Date 4/11
Third Build Date 4/18
Fourth Build Date 4/11
Come on guys, get on with it already
All I can do is stand back and cry

The quest for the 05 treasure continues!

Oscar

I really don't think the size of the dealer matters. I order from one of the largest dealers in Alabama, and it will be 5 months on the 11th of this month. But I did get good news form my dealer today, he said my GT has been shipped. After I got off the phone with him I called the robot lady, she said the car has been released. I guess that means its been shipped. So am I going to get my hope up now!!! I don't think so.......................

I think that it also may depend on where you live to Just Think of all the Logisticts that have to be involved with transporting and paper work as opposed to you doing it yourself ? After all it wasn't that long ago that I for one was riding a Horse. So Yes it will take some time there are so many facters in place and this so called robot Lady is not going to help any of us with what we all WANT to know. # 1 Order # 2 Recieve and what we need to do it train our brains that way and stop wasting so much wasted time wondering. If it is ment to happen it will if not well count your lucky stars that al least we are breathing. I passify my self Looking and sitting in them at open viewings and letting Junior take me for a ride.

Well Logistictly speaking, all transporting and paper work aside. If that Mustang will ever get here I will still be riding a horse, the only difference is mine will have 5 forward gears, and 300 ponys that I hope will "TAKE MY BREATH AWAY".

Hey,

First Ford spends millions on marketing
Then they get a home run with a great product
But can they deliver - no! I know about the hickups with 18G but why? It beats me...
Been waiting for answers and seen orders placed later comin thru - are they pulling orders from a hat? Can anyone explain how Ford's ordering system really works?
:notnice:
