so for 2005, red is the only color (besides the regular leather colors) that you can get as an option. has anyone heard if ford will be offering more color choices in the future? for some strange reason, i really like the blue leather interior that motortrend photochopped a while ago, and is also seen in the MRT mustang. plus i think the blue would look on a mineral grey mustang. so i want to know if any of the insiders have heard anything about this, and what are everyone elses opinions on some different interior colors.

I read an article many months ago, where Hau Tai (Chief Mustang Engineer) stated that an obvious future interior color would be the dark charcoal interior with tan as an accent (like the current red is now).

I am not an insider but I would think if the red interior is selling like it appears to be, for sheer financial purposes, Ford would be foolish not to expand the selection

I agree. Blue interior would be awesome and no offense ... I think the red interior is so incredibly ugly. I liked it at first, but now I hate it.

My problem with the red is that it's too bright a hue. A nice dark red would look much better to me.

They should offer a dark grey with the black intrior that would look nice with a mineral grey or silver

Blue would be awesome.

Doesn't the SVT Focus have blue as part of the interior color?

Uhm, yes it is? It was a photoshop, and completely fake, but it was supposed to be blue leather.

I agree about the shade of red used, just too bright, looks almost plasticky. I too would prefer a darker, richer hue than that used. Granted, I haven't yet seen one live, so I'll withhold final judgement, and thought that maybe it was just the photos throwing off the tones a bit, but every photo seems about the same shade. Just something a bit more blood red rather than clown red.

I wonder if Ford could just use the red in the center panels of the seats and leave the rest of the seat -- side bolsters, back -- the dark gray for a nice two tone effect? Wonder if something like that could be custom ordered somehow?

I would like to see a yellow and blue added, take a cue from what Pontiac did with the GTO's interior.

Why yes, yes it does And I like it very very much. Beats the socks off of my '67 Mustang's green interior

Blue or yellow would be nice options. As for the red, I saw black w/red leather in person yesterday and it looked great. It's not a bright as I had feared.

I was also hoping for a leather interior that would either match or accent the car's exterior color. I thought that if they used a yellow leather with the screaming yellow exterior or the dark blue with the sonic blue it would be a sweet combination. When I order my vert, (if I can pick a color) I will look into a color change. Prob wont do it because of expense though.

Or how about a white leather accent package with a white top for the convertible. It's hard to keep clean but would totally work with the retro theme....

I don't know, have never cared for a white interior.

When you see the red in person you may be surprised. It looks very much like that pictured in the convertible above. I was amazed to see that it's nowhere near as bright as in the brightly illuminated shots we've seen around here. The hue is really more of a cranberry than lipstick red. BTW - the red door panel is made of the same perforated red leather as the middle of the seats. I had wondered if it might be a hard plastic but it's really nice. Oh - and the rear seat is amazingly comfortable to sit in - as long as you aren't 6'0 tall! It's not as low as you might think and not hard at all. I had to bend my head to avoid the low ceiling but it's perfect for kids.

Take a look at what colors are offered in the T-Bird line. In 2004 they offered the tan leather option as well as the red or white inserts with charcoal.

A blue and gray or blue and charcoal is my choice. I am hoping to have blue/charcoal leather installed by an aftermarket shop near me (similar to the T-Bird 2 tone design) - and perhaps cover the door panel inserts in the blue too.
