My friend works at a Hyundai dealership and brought a Tiburon home for me to check out. I checked out the back seat and I could barely fit inside. Not only was it insanely hard to get into but once I finally got situated I had to sit hunched forward with my head scrapeing the glass, and I'm barely 6'. I was just wondering if there's anyone out there that has been able to sit inside both a Tiburon and the new Stang, just so we can get a little comparison. This may be a little far-fetched but it's worth a shot.

Front passangers have TONS of room in the 05 including a lot of headroom (especially for us taller drivers over 6'). The rear will be cramped. I didn't try to sit in the rear but you can see its tight, mostly with respect to leg room.

ive sat in a new stang and my friends sister's tiburon U GOT PLENNNNNNNNNTY of room in the new mustang. ud be suprised out comfortable u really r............i did dit in the rear.......yes im not 6 ft but u have alot more room in the stang. its hard to get into the back if the seat isnt pushed forward but once u sit since the seats r down low (they r lower because they fold down soo its level with the trunk in case u wanna store crap) ur head will clear and its a nice comfy seat

The backseat is there for insurance purposes, and maybe for very small children. If you are looking to buy a 4-seater... the Mustang might not be such a good idea. If you are wanting a 2-seater that has a back seat only for emergencies...

Who buys a Mustang for the room in the back seat? In almost three years, I've only had people in there once, and they were kids, so they didn't complain.
I remember a trip back in 1970 in my brand new SS350 Camaro from Lawton, Oklahoma to Dallas with my parents in law cramped in the back seat. I think I should have been charged with cruel and unusual punishment.

1) The Pontiac GTO. It's been kind of a slow seller, so if you hook up with a good dealer, you could probably get it for less than $30K. I sat in the back seat of one. Getting into the back was an exercise in contortion art, but once I was back there, leg room was pretty ample, compared to just about everything else... and I'm 6'3"
2) Scion tC. If you don't mind an FWD import, you can get the optional supercharger for it, bringing the total up to about $20K, with a little over 200hp and lb/ft. Firstly, there was one thing I *really* liked about this car-- it is the FIRST compact I've ever driven that didn't require me to slide the driver's seat ALL the way back! I was able to give the passenger sitting behind me a couple of spare inches to what was already the most legroom I've ever seen in a compact car. Secondly, it has a rather nifty feature-- you can remove the headrests in the front seats and recline them flat, to create what one Toyota executive called with a completely straight face "conversational space"! Would certainly have come in handy on prom night

Plenty for the Front, and Not too bad for the back. I have been in Both the Tiburon, and 3, 05 Mustangs and I was Very Comfortable in the 05 Stang but the Tiburon Feels Very Cramped inside, Especially from the Side. I'm 6'4", with a 34" inseam, and 385#. This Guy (Below) was at Legends Field in Tampa and he was 6' tall and sat in the Rear seat. He said it wasn't too bad but the Passenger seat was moved forward about 5"

Only figure to use the rear seat for the kids. I think I'd recommend looking elsewhere if adults are going to be there more than once in a blue moon. Not only do you want more leg room but you'd probably want four doors as well.
Try a Toyota Solara. As my mechanic told me, "They're spiffy."

I know none of you are banging the tiburon, but that is one sick car.
I test drove a silver one with the V6 and 6speed manual, that is one REALLY fun car.

It desperately needs a longer wheelbase, though. And it could use a worthwhile powertrain. The V-6 I drove felt like it belonged in an SUV, not a sportscar (coincidentally, the same motor is used in both the Sonata sedan and Sorento SUV). Decent low end torque for a small motor, but it's definitely not very rev-happy.
On the bright side, Mitsubishi, DCX, and Hyundai/Kia are developing a 2.4L four-banger that could potentially trump Toyota's 2.4, so there is definitely hope for the Tibby.
Of course, to stay competitive, it will definitely have to lower its pricetag. The Scion tC, which, in my opinion, outclasses the Tibby in every aspect except external appearance, undercuts Tiburon's pricetag by several grand...
Of course, there's no real point in going for a 200hp FWD import when Ford is putting out a RWD coupe with oodles of torque for the same price...

Yeah, no one can sit behind me in the car, but I have a pretty decent legroom up front, better position than most cars too.
