March 06 was 16,117, a good month for Mustang sales.

My guestimate for March 07 is 14,800.

BTW, I believe that the sales month ends on April 2, so it will be a long selling month and we won't have the #s until April 3.

What? V10 is more optimistic than me on monthly sales. What has the world come to?

So should we use the Price is Right rules? (closest but not going over)

Well, that's an 8% decrease. March-April-May-June are the big selling months for Mustangs. I figure they'll get a bounce back from very weak Jan & Feb sales (down 19%).

I haven't paid any attention to how many new Mustangs are sitting on the local Ford dealer lots, so you may be better informed than I am. Sales of competitive 2 door sporty cars are down more than the Mustang, so the entire market may be tanking right now.

When I ordered mine in early February, they had about 10 GTs in stock. For them, it's a huge number because they're not a real big dealership. When I went back last week to re-order they still had the same 10 cars, all sitting in exactly the same spot. So, I'd say their sales were pretty slow.

And the actual # is 14,737 mustangs sold in March. Down 8.6% from last March (16,117) .http://media.ford.com/pdf/March07sales.pdf

V10 was only 63 mustangs off, but under "The Price is Right" rules he went over.

If this rate of sales continues for the rest of the year (next 3 quarters), then we're looking at 145,000 mustang sales for 2007 (down 20,000 from last year)

You said it would be "about 8% lower" which equals about 14,828. I'm sorry but you can't join Bob Barker on stage.

AFBLUE you lose cause you have to guess one number and you gave a range.. so by default i win with my guess at 1.

The term "about" throws in a +/- 1% margin of error.

no "about" means a range of that exact or less so implies 8% or less so could be 7% or 6% but not 9%. If you wanted a +/- you would say approximately.
