I agree with that. I must say, though, that the only thing that bugs me is misleading titles.

This one was quite appropriate, as it was in question form. However, the ones that start off with titles such as "New Cobra News" are pretty annoying once it turns out to be somebody just looking for information. That bursts my bubble. :notnice:

 

yeah, i wish ford would give us something.............anything. i mean even "New Larger Cup Holder Design" would be something but atleast we get the occasional pics of 05 and vids and throw in the screwed up stangs. atleast we have something to talk about. could be like the camaro and firebird sites. all they have is look at my drawing of the 2010+ camaro

It actually said MY2007 Cobra.

 

Again, .........the car will be so fast it'll be ridiculous. Ford is aiming to nail the M3. that should be enough said.

 

the 2007 MY Cobra (Project condor), will have the IRS suspanesion (as the 2005 MY Mustang was suppose to have, until the cost of the IRS vs. the SRA came into effect).

As far as supercharger, Ford is still evaulating the room availble under the Hood.

 

About 99.99% sure it will have a blower...

 

After the 03/04 Cobra, it seems like that would almost be a sure bet. The blower seems like it may become standard fare on the Cobra.

Some guys over at camaroz28.com with definite connections say the '07 Cobra will not be supercharged. Apparently the SC 5.4 requires too tall of a hood to work. It's going to be an NA 5.4 around 450hp. :notnice:

So yeah when he confirms something it's usually true.

The only thing I would argue is there's no way they'll get 450hp out the 5.4 NA.

GuionM knows his stuff and definately has connections. It does not mean he's going to be right 100% of the time, but I'd definately put weight on his words. He's a good guy as well and his posts are educated and unbiased.

I've posted this before, but since this topic has come up again, it's worth repeating.

When Dustin4 & I were at the 05 Stang showing in Foxboro, MA, we spoke extensively with the body and structure engineering manager for the '05 Stang. Of course we asked about the next SVT (Cobra).

He said that the original plan was for a 4.6L based, N/A engine that would have over 400HP. He said that they were unable to make 400 HP H/A and have it meet all requirements (emissions, durability, cost, etc.) - Sounds to me like the 5.0 Cammer was originally developed for the next SVT Cobra.

We asked for more info. on the next SVT Cobra, motor, but didn't get any other info. other than the same inference, that >400 HP and normally aspirated was the target. Read into it what you will, but it sounds to me like it will take more than 4.6L (or even 5.0L) to make the >400 HP N/A target.

In any case based on what this Ford person told us, the story on camaroZ28.com could be credible.

The only thing I don't understand is, what's wrong with 450 HP / N/A?

450 hp N/A will add to the cost of a car a supercharger is alot cheaper then designing and fine tuning a car

 

u gotta be careful because they will charge u an arm and a leg for a car wit 450hp

That's what i think too, it will be in the form of naturally aspirated horsepower.....which i think is better anyways....just my .02
