Any ideas on when Ford will air the first TV ads?

I really don't watch much TV so I'm afraid I will miss the first ads on TV. Does anyone have a clue as to when they will start airing?

I work for a TV station. I'll keep a close look out for it to arrive.

I now realize just how stupid this question really was. Kinda like asking about prices or release dates, right? Only Ford marketing types would know the answer...and they're not talking.

during NFL games? Sunday & Monday Night Football perhaps? Not a bad target audience, they showed the FORD GT during the Super Bowl.

I dont recall ever seeing a commercial for a mustang specifically (by itself) before.. But I think I have seen ads that have a mustang in it along with other ford cars... Anyone else remember?

I remember that ad well. The first time I ever got choked up watching a commercial.

Ford ran Mustang "only" commercials early in the current car's (1999) run. I recall two of them. I also remember commercials for the Mustang in the mid-90's. I think as the current car got longer in the tooth, they stopped marketing the vehicle on television.

I was wondering the same thing. I can't recall seeing an ad for a Mustang in a very long time. Maybe in the background for a dealer, but not specifically for a Mustang. They are usually dealer ads, not Ford ads, anyway.

I am in advertising and I spoke with one of Fords westcoast P.R. people a couple of weeks ago, She told me that the ads would not run until sometime after job 1 and that the magazines would not be able to print any reviews until Sept. However all of the magazines and other media outlets who are going to review the cars have had the cars availible to them for several months.

I can confirm this after interviewing Hau Thai-Tang. He said the same thing.

Sure, rub it in...
Just cause you got to talk to him doesn't make you better than me!!

Actually, it might, but that's the jealousy talking.

Sometime during the first two weeks in August, I'll be back in the states during that time. We don't have commericals on the TV here in Iceland so it "must" happen while I'm home.

Is that in the month of September or the September issue of the magazine? If it's in the month of Sept., that would be like the November issue.

There is no way the ads will run before September. Everything I have heard was more like November. I'm guessing Ford wants to hold out until November... maybe let a fe Mustangs drive around and have people looking and wondering what that is? Saying, I have to have one. But, like mentioned earlier, nobody knows, but Ford. And they ain't tellin'.
