From reading the information supplied by Ford the regular production Canadian Mustangs will have a 200 horsepower V6 engine and the American Mustangs will have a 208 horsepower V6 engine. Why the difference? Would it not be more practical from a sales point of view to offer the 208 horsepower engine to Canadian buyers also.

Whoa easy cheif.
I'm sure the cars will have the same number.
Case in point...the V6 numbers have jumped to 3 or 4 different numbers..and nothings official.
The fine print always stated (engineering estimates)
Canadian one probably didn't want any odd numbers so they threw in 200 as a nice solid number.
The original US numbers were like 202, 208, 210...something along those lines.
And really if its even rated 200 and has 210-215 hp ...who cares...
Simmer....simmer....thats better
The GTs numbers were the same.
The 300hp was always there...but the RPMs have changed...
and the torque jumped from 315-320.

Thanks for the reply, I just thought it odd that the numbers were different. Whatever the V6 number ends up being I can see myself in my new 2005 Windveil Blue Stang.

If you do a search here you may be able to find a thread that Brad started where he shared an e-mail from a Ford engineer in Cologne Germany, where th V6 is made. The engineer said that the V6 really has around 220 HP, so even @ 210 is sounds like it's under rated.

Could also be the tiny difference between HP and BHP (Break Horse Power). BHP is like .96 HP or something. It's something they use in the UK as well. Not sure how it is in Canada. I do know some of them speak French LOL

Anywho Where did you hear about us getting 200 hp v6's while americans get 208 hp v6's? Was it a dealer that told you because lets face it I've talked to alot of dealers here in Edmonton and most know absolutly jack about them. They just make up BS, to make it look like they know what they are talking about.
