Alfa Romeo?

I wanted to share this story. Last week I was outside on the driveway doing yard work with the garage door open. A neighbor walked up to talk to me and noticed my car in the garage. He said to me, "I don't have my glasses on. Is that an Alfa Romeo?" Now I don't even know what an Alfa Romeo looks like, but it seemed like a positive comment at the time.
This was the 3rd time that I can remember that someone was intrigued by my car, yet didn't know what it was. Anyone have any similar experiences?

If I didn't see that you lived in Maryland I would think you lived overseas! Never seen anyone who could not identify the S197!

Yea, that sure is a weird one!

Size-wise, the Mustang is about as big as the box an Alfa would come in!

ask your neighbor if they've ever been Jab-slapped and then demonstrate.

Here in Kuwait there are very few S197s. I've only seen 4 other ones here. Mine is the only vert i've seen around. ALL the time people confuse the pony emblem for a Ferrari (arguably the most common car on the road in this filthy rich country). That’s a step up from an Alfa Romeo (pronounced ro-may-oo, not as in Romeo and Juliet).

My ex-wife said she didn't like the S197 at first because it looked "too Toyota Celica like. "I yelled, "Are you insane!!!" Crazy behind woman.
