Aftermarket radio issues

Ok so i have an 05 GT. when I bought it it needed a SJB so I replaced that and the radio never worked from the get go. I got rid of the stock box and got a Walmart special, wired it all up and it worked great. Put everything back together and clicked the ignition to run. Nothing. Black screen. Hit the power button. Nothing. Checked all the fuses and they’re good. (2 in the SJB and 1 under the hood). Pull it all back out and test the wires constant power at yellow, red 12v switched is good power and the ground is good. Unplugged the unit and plugged it back in and it’s working fine again? Cycled the ignition a few times and it went out again. Now if I pull the under hood fuse and plug it back it starts back up. I replaced the head unit with another one already and same problem so I ruled out it being the head units problem. I followed the wiring color by color like I’ve done with several other units however is there anything special With these? I had a different 05 many years ago and think I remembered something about the blue / blue/white wire needing something special done but I can’t remember. Any help is appreciated

Sounds like a loose/pinched wire somewhere or a short. Have you checked the wires?
I only say this because when its out it runs but when you cram it in the hole it doesnt run.

I thought that too but I checked all the wires, they’re good. When the wires are back in they’re not crunched together there’s plenty of room. Even if I take it apart and move the wires around it won’t turn on. The only way it turns back on is killing power wether by pulling the plug or pulling the fuse and then it starts right up. I read a review someone else had the same problem with the Dual brand radios. Maybe I’m just gonna have to bite the bullet and order a pioneer or Kenwood
