The car was originally designed w/out the wing. It was a corporate decision to tack on the wing.

I ordered mine w/o spoiler because I like the clean look, and maybe to upgrade to the CDC ducktail at some point.
I have it my way and I have a spoiler mounted to my garage wall.
One of the other TMS members upgraded to a Roush and gave me his.
So I don't care about paying for one, I have it.

Well that's why it doesn't flow with the lines at all, like the old 2004 mustang, that one looks good with the wing on and it does flow with the vehicle lines.

+1 to the rear looking "bare" without a wing.

That being said, I don't like the stock wing. My GT500 wing should be here soon... I can't wait to get it on the car!!

To spoiler, or not to spoiler ... blah, blah, blah

Convertible ponys without spoilers look incomplete to me. I prefer the stock spoiler over most ducktails, with the exception of the one on the GT500. Here is to top-down days in a couple more months up here in PA!

I really liked the way my car looked when it came off the carrier the 1st time. Spoiler delete and all. But as soon as the SSE Ducktail was installed, I couldn't go back to not having the ducktail on it. Also, the stock spoiler looks okay, but not retro enough for this car IMO.

Looks better from a front/side view than from the rear.
I like a spoiler, and until I can upgrade to CDC's ducktail, or the Shelby 500, I'm happy with the stocker.

no one is answering the question on how you plug the holes when taking spoiler off. If someone could please answer this. I have wanted to remove my 99 spoiler and would like to know this please!

I can tell you what I did with my 96GT about 6 years ago. I got some plastic hole plugs (black), painted them the same color as my car (using touch up paint) and glued them in the holes. I should have waited and put more coats on before installing, as the paint came off in places a few months later.
You could leave them unpainted which wouldn't look bad either.
You can find hole plugs at Lowes/Home Depot or hardware store. The ones I found fit perfectly in the holes.

Spoiler delete all the way!!! Had an '04 and always wanted to swap out the stock spoiler then when I traded it in on the '07 I knew there was no way there was going to one on this time. I love the lines of the car without the stock spoiler. Like another said, I've been wanting to get a ducktail but the car looks so good right now.

Looks great without the spoiler, that's why I ordered mine with the spoiler delete!
