Adjusting headlamps

Has anyone else noticed the headlamps are adjust WAY too low from the factory? I can barely see past 60'-100' at night and find that if the lamps were adjusted higher, new bulbs may not be necessary. The foglamps take care of the close-range lighting very nicely.

Has anyone else re-adjusted their stock headlamps before attempting any upgrades?

Yup, raised mine, just wish there was a right to left adjustment. I live out in the country and driving the back roads at night needs a bit more latitude. Also added the H13ST's, that helped too.

Do you recall how much adjustment was required?

I got to get around to doing it too. Its like they didn't compensate for the rake of the car. They're both dead even with each other, but way low.

This is the same case with almost every new Crown Victoria. I can't figure out why they're adjusted so low. When I re-aimed my Vic's headlights, I found they were almost 2 feet below spec.

I also don't like the amopunt of lighting I get from just the regular headlights, so I always drive at night with my driving lights on as well. I get flashed by oncoming cars with their brights, and all is usually well after I click my high beams on to show them the difference.

The high beams on the Stang are kind of impressive. I wonder if this has anything to do with Ford using relays for the foglamps and high beams (which explains the nice white and bright light) and not using relays for the low beams (yellowish lights).
