This was just passed along to me, but it's the first I've heard of it. I'd be real surprised if the '06 really has "Front Seatbelt Height Adjusters" since it hasn't been on TMS.

Look under "Safety" on this Yahoo page. I couldn't find it on Ford's site or any other car website.

I'm prety sure that's a typo. I work for the company that supplies the safety restraints, and it's news to me.

I thought it was too.
Just trying to settle another argument over what's new on the '06.

Nope, must be a typo. I just installed the CDC Light bar Sunday, which requires you to remove the seat belt brackets, bolt the light bar bracket to the pillars, then put the shoulder harness bracket back in place. There is no height adjustment.

No not really. Limited to just a couple of colors matched to the interiors I think just a beige to go with parchment, and a dark grey to go with everything else, if memory serves me, on S197.

For the validation testing this stuff goes through, it gets prohibitively expensive to develop a lot of colors, especially where the webbing itself is concerned

You don't see height adjusters on verts due to the lack of structure above the beltline, to anchor one to, but they are in most new hardtops.

Not to sound alarmist, but the way you describe the light bar installing, kind of makes it sound like if it got impacted hard enough to rip it loose, it could compromise your seatbelts shoulder anchorage too, at the worst possible time??

But there's not a height adjustment in the '06 coupe, right?
I KNOW there's not in the '05 coupe.

Nowadays, it seems alot of non-US auto makers are making features like height-adjustable seatbelts standard. It's those little touches that I wish more US auto makers, like Ford, rolled into more of their cars. It's the little things that raise the impressions their cars leave with buyers.

Not to say I wouldn't buy a car just because it doesn't have height-adjustable seatbelts. It would be one more thing I could be proud of.

I do not think I have to worry about that. There are four bolts holding the light bar bracket in place on each side; two of them are factory, and the other two provided with the light bar. If I were to roll over, the light bar is not strong enough to support the weight of the car and will most likely crush. However, the brackets that hold it in place are super strong.
