Can all the components of the factory Active Anti Theft System be installed in a car not so equipped? If so what is needed to accomplish this task? I want to get my Stang under a little security blanket, I should have searched for a car with the system already installed but I didn't, go fiqure......

From the components, wiring harnesses, etc. involved. It would be next to impossible. The factory system is integrated with several different components int the vehicle.

So the only option is an aftermarket alarm system with it's own sensors and remote? I quess I'll have to carry two remotes with me, or can the factory stuff be eliminated?

Ford sells a security system for the Mustang from their Accessories store:

$142.

There's also one that can replace your existing remote entry:

$186.

I bought a similar system from Ford for my '95 GT, and it has never given me a problem. It included remote entry, motion sensors, starter disable, automatic door locking with ignition on, etc.
