Hey Everybody,

I have my GT on order without the Active Anti Theft System. And I didn't realize that it was required to have the feature where the remote could roll the windows down. My car has yet to be scheduled, so I was thinking about seeing if my dealer could add it. I already did this with the 17" machined wheels. I just don't want to delay my car too much.

What is your opinions?

Thanks!

Why would you not order it in the first place? It will lower your insurance to pay for itself ...

What do airbags and anti-theft have to do with one-another? If your insurance company doesn't give a discount for this, I'd shop elsewhere!

Then again: besides being cool, what use do you have for remote-controlled power windows? It won't make the car faster, or handle better. Or even look better.

If it was me, I'd let it go. The active anti theft is a seller for me (theoretically speaking, since it's my own broke hiney I'm talking 'bout), but the remote controlled windows coming with it are just a bonus. I can't see what's so good about them.

Why is it a seller for you...I didn't quite understand?

As far as why the window thing is a cool feature...One thought is on a hot summer day, you can roll the windows down ahead of time to air the car out.

Now don't get me wrong...i had been on the fence all along whether I wanted the Anti theft. I had decided that I would skip it, but now, a feature that I thought was standard actually comes with the Anti Theft...soooo, now i'm trying to make a choice again.

How do you get an anti-theft discount without having an ant-theft system in your car?

I came to the same conclusion as ace215. My dealer sad you want this feature and added it on. He's a good friend of mine so I didn't argue. I am not glad he did.

hehe sorry for the confusion, it's my less-than-perfect grasp of the English language that gets in the way sometimes

what I meant was if I could order the car today, I'd take the Anti theft system, but not because of the remote windows, but because I think the theft system in itself is worth it. So it's a selling point to me.

Then again, unlike you, I would most likely get a lower insurance rate so it weighs in on my preferences. It sounds to me that you really want it, so think about it this way: Maybe you'll have to wait longer for your Pony but if you don't add it now, is there a risk that you'll think about it every time you sit in it? If so, some extra wait now is definitely the better choice.

I added active anti-theft after my order was already scheduled. It bumped my production date by a week but it added ok.

Find out if it can be added on, by the dealer, after your car comes in!

Err... wait a minute. Who says you need active anti-theft to be able to open and close the windows using the remote? I don't think that's true.

Ace, I added the anti-theft to my order the week before my care was built (9/27). My dealer had to make few calls, but was able to amend the order without a problem.

Are they serious? It's the year 2005, and the passenger door won't unlock if I turn the key? This is a matter of TWO LINES OF CODE for the programmer. Adding that feature wouldn't require ANY additional parts. That's dupery.
