Sorry if this is a re-post, but I couldn't find anything on this. Today while driving, I had the A/C on because it was a warm muggy humid day. Well I noticed that about every 30seconds or so it would make a pssh noise, is this normal or should I have the dealer look at it as something is wrong. Every other car I had when thecA/C was on never made that noise. I know the normal compressor noise and I know that isn't normal . I am taking it to the dealer on wednesday as they have to put in the replacement shaker as mine skips a lot.

Mine does the exact same thing. It is the clutch on the AC compressor cycling on and off. If you pop the hood and watch while you have the AC on, you will see the engaging causes the noise.

Go outside, start it up, pop the hood and watch the compressor to see if that is indeed where the noise is coming from. I suspect it is just the release of built up pressure. Shouldn't be anything to worry about.

Yeah that's what I figured, plus today was the humidest (if that's a word) day yet since I've owned the car in February.

Well, from inside the car it sounds like a psshhh sound, like air being released. Once you open the hood up it gets louder, and you can tell by watching the AC clutch that it engaging correlates to the sound. It might be releasing built up pressure. I don't know for sure. I know my car did it ever since I got tback in February. You're probably like "AC in February?" Well, i am from Florida, and it was hot enough then to run the AC. I don't recall how humid it was though. I only notice the sound if I have my music off and the windows down. I haven't had any problems with the way the AC cools, so i wouldn't worry too much about it.

EDIT: (Off Topic) i just noticed the lyric in your signature. I love that song. Thursday is one of my favorite bands.

Alright, good, I am in the clear hopefully !

yeah I love thursday too, one of the most well written lyrically wise bands. They have hidden meanings and depth to them. Sometimes dark, but always good !!

I have the same thing and while having my car serviced I pointed the thing out to the mechanic, he said it's absolutely normal...
Now, I gotta trust the guy, I guess...
