My wife has a 05 V6 nearing 62 miles (100,000km) and the dealer said its going to be a major one costing $1000 plus taxes includes the following

Oil change tire rotation
Tranny flush
Coolant flush
Replace spark Plugs
Fuel filter
Air filter
Engine de carb
Fuel injection

her car runs perfectly fine, although I recommended we replace just the spark plugs with NGK even though the advisor recommend we go with dealer plugs(to make more $$$) but the other stuff seemed the useless and rip off.

anybody had this service? how much of it is honest advice?

De-oxidize the motor?! I never knew that was possible! Which now brings up the question, why didn't Ford do something to protect it in the first place? The rest is kind of understandable, except the fuel pump replacement. Or did you mean the fuel filter?

I did a google search on "how to de-oxidize an engine", nothing was found. I would do the sparkplugs and oil change, then call it a day ......Unless you have some kind of extended warranty and you have to have these thing done to keep it good.

. de-oxidize the engine
. replace fuel pump
. replace water tank
These three would worry me. Is your water tank leaking or does it just need to be de-oxidized too? That last part was a joke. What is de-oxidizing the engine? As far as I know the fuel pump either works or is doesn't work. Yea I guess they can weakin over time. What did the fuel pressure test show? I wpuld suggest doing the work yourself, even if you have to buy some tools to do it.

I would take it to a entirely different dealer, that's the reason I have a favorite Ford dealer, I've never had a run around or second thoughts,

But even with my favorite dealer They have 3 teams of mechanics, each is different values and efforts, I found the one I trust and stick with him.

It's not FORD ripping you off.. it's that stealership. ...I'd take it some where else and let everyone you know about their shady business practices.

Definitely a slightly bent if not outright crooked service advisor/ service manager/ stealership that is trying to extract maximum innards from your wallet.

Take it somewhere else, and DO NOT EVER GO BACK. That is the only way they learn: go out of business, and make sure everyone knows why.

/The freakin' NERVE.
//Ok, maybe a teensy bit harsh on the 'going out of business', but really. It would totally work, I bet.

Look up the 60k in your manual. Follow that. That tells you everything you need done. Send me your Vin and I can tell you if your transmission needs servicing on Monday when I get back to work. Most transmissions don't need a service till they hit 150k. But the dealership will try and sell one to you anyways.

I'm nearing 60k mi. and my dealer wants to do all 4 brakes, auto transmission fluid, and change fuel filter. Brakes are legit, same with transmission (has been shifting kinda ****ty lately, so maybe it'll help), and the fuel filter...maybe. But they never said anything about that other stuff...I'd ask for a detailed explanation of how they deoxidize the engine. lol.

De-carbon the engine more politically correct

She doesn't have extended warranty so if something went wrong she'd have to pay up anyhow

So I called the dealer and this is the breakdown

Oil change tire rotation
Tranny flush
Coolant flush
Replace spark Plugs
Fuel filter
Air filter
Engine de carb
Fuel injection

1000+ taxes 12%

I definitely wouldn't do any of it, if you're not having a problem with it. Even if you are having a problem with it, do it yourself if at all possible. If I recall correctly, I got charged $35 and $10 labor just for an air filter. I'd bet all of that maintenance is worth under $500 done yourself.

Fuel injector cleaner isn't necessary. Transmission probably doesn't need a service till 150,000 miles depending on your tranny code.
Go get a coolant tester from Oreillys and test your coolant to see if it need replacement.
Spark plugs are good till 100,000 miles. Engine decarb should be done with the spark plug change for optimal cleaning

Fuel filter should probably be changed, yes to the rotate and oil change.

I'm a tech at a dealer and most of those items they told you you need are upsales. They are trying to make money.
