Got my GT 5speed last night and today I'm hearing a 3rd gear whine under normal acceleration. Is this common?

Its a faint whine, just worried I'm alone on this and its a bearing in the tranny. Car has 56miles on it. 14 miles at delivery.

dont worry about it. mine does the same thing, and so does my ranger. unless you start to feel some serious vibration or really loud whining, you are fine. enjoy your new ride!!!

The only whining I hear is from when I hit third and I'm two car lengths ahead. Ok, well that's going to be what I hear soon.

Can't possibly be longer than on older GTs.

Some gear/tranny noise is normal on these cars. This one is quite a bit more quiet than it's predecessors. Relax and enjoy!

Yes , the Triax makes a BIG diff.....I'm sure the other aftermarket units do also. Only a small increase in noise.

I had a Pro 5.0 in my '97 Cobra and WOW...talk about noise. I kinda liked it though, it fit the rest of the cars personality of a rough and tumble basically old school hot rod.
