Does anyone know what 31S MUSTANG VPC option is?

Its a ship-through code, you having any of the Ford accessories pre-installed?

its for use with any of the accessories that come pre-installed, like the cargo net, mud guards, racing stripes, mobile-ease, or remote start.

It's "Virtual Personal Computer". You'll be able to connect your home PC desktop with high speed connection. Requires Sirius Satellite Radio and HUD (Head Up Display) options to work.

Seriously... I have no idea.

that's not an option. You're thinking of Microsoft Sync that will bow in the Focus and Flex. It just means that it is going to the mustang modification center before shipping. They do stuff like put the splash guards and stripes on. Its not for the dealer installed(items that are shipped with the car loose) items like wheel locks, fuel door, and chrome exhaust tips.

It's Vehicle Personalization Center. It's a warehouse across the street from the plant where a handful of options are installed before shipment.

It actually says it in the order guide options pages, above the options themselves in the top window.

Or maybe it's "Vehicle Personalized Clunk"

Option, that is "installed" in every Mustang with Voodoo and nobody don't know what it is and where it comes from. Dealer just says it's "normal"...

Daniel, I got your email. Sorry for the delay. I've been sick with the flu. I looked in the order guide, and can't find that code anywhere. I'll have to run a CONCEPT tomorrow, and add that code, to see what comes up. It is Vehicle Personalization Center though. Just don't know exactly what it is.

It would seem Ford hasn't done a very good job distributing details about the VPC to dealers. My dealer had no idea what it meant. They were certain my options would show up in the trunk. Ford has opted to take it upon themselves to install some items that would historically have been dealer installed. This allows for better quality control and prevents a hack technician from wrecking a car and causing unnecesary warranty claims. Items installed at the VPC include cargo nets, Mobilease Bluetooth, stripes and a couple other things that escape me at the moment.

So, as stated above, it's literally a building across the street from the plant where this work is done. They drive the car out of the plant and right over the to holding lot at the VPC. It usually adds a day or two to the shipping time.

I would not EVER want ANYTHING that allows ANYTHING Microsoft to communicate with my car!!!
"Are you SURE you want to start the engine?"
"Yes"
"Warning, starting the engine could lead to personal injury or death, are you sure you would like to start the engine?"
"Yes"
"By selecting "Yes" to start the engine you understand that starting the engine could result in person injury or death to you and others. By selecting "yes" you are releiving Miscrosoft and Ford Motor Company of all resposibility that may arise.........

You get the idea.

Hmmm, I'm thinking that this would make for an interesting thread...
