2013 Stang taillights

Looking over the photos of the 2013 Stang, I am so much in love with the new taillights. I love the LED surrounds, they are just sweet.

Attention aftermarket!!! I would like a set of the '13 style taillights, with the LED surrounds, LED centers that switch from brake to reverse, to be able to bolt on to my 06. If there is some slight wiring involved to make the brake/reverse LEDs work, i'm OK with that.

I too like the 2013 rearend a lot, they really did a nice job...however, IMO putting that style on our bodies , I just dont think it would 'fit' quite as well...I just want a set of all red lenses(lose the backups) for mine... there are a lot of aftermarket lenses out there for the 05s, I still think plain all-red would look better...

I cant get over how much better the '13 lights/bumper look, , they really hit a home run there IMO.

Ah yes this is sweet! I would like to do this too! Hopefully the aftermarket is scrambling right now to make something like this...

This will probably date me, but it looks like Ford went way back into the parts bin and pulled the taillights off the 1970 Mercury Montego.

And the new GT 500 look front end is going to make every new Mustang look just like a late model Dodge Charger from the front.

The more we progress down the road - the more I am soooo glad I "retired" my '06 from being a Daily Driver.

I probably need to see the real thing in person.

I fail to see a resemblance. This Montego Cyclone has horizontally positioned triple taillamp pods.

With triple vertical elements it more closely resembles the 1970 Mustang with it's blackout out rear panel and lamp bezels...

I have to say, I liked the front 4/5 of the 2010-2012. The back end I could not get into the style. The redesign of the 2013 back end is REALLY well done. Those tail lights are very cool!

I always said all they had to do was take that weird center point out of the new tailights and it would be good to go, they finally did it!

They are making them for the 2013 S197s

The units themselves would need to be totally redone to fit the rear bumper area of the 2005-09 S197s. I can't see Ford doing this but perhaps an aftermarket company will step up to the plate.

I agree...such a simple change, such a big appearance difference.

It's not weird to me. The point worked well with the sequential lights.

Yes, I am reviving an old thread. But I was going through old photos and ran across the one I posted in the first post. I asked way back in November of 2011... and look, I got my wish. Have a set of them installed on Maxine.

Thanks. I've gone through many variations with my car the last 3.5 years.. i think I should have a build thread to document it all. All appearance though, haven't yet broke down and gone performance mods... yet.
