What date is job #1 for the 2008 (Mustang) model year?

Hi guys, I was in the market for an '07 GT, but am willing to wait for the '08 if it won't be too long (I can feel my youth slipping away in my Volvo)...

I apologize in advance for my ignorance, but can somebody please explain to me what you guys mean by the "Job 1 date"?

Does this mean:
1) "Ford will begin producing the first batch of '08 mustangs at this date,"
2) "Ford will finish producing the first batch of '08 mustangs at this date,"
or...
3) "'08 mustangs will be available AT THE DEALER for me to purchase and drive off with at this date?"

Do you have any insight as to how long it will take before average-joe-me can pick one up after the production begins? How long does it usually take?

 

Best bet is to order exactly what you want now. You could anticipate taking delivery in July/Aug. If you want to wait and buy off the lot then it's probably about the same time, but you may have a tough time finding exactly what you want.
