2007 Mustangs

I am ready to get a new Mustang for my wife, and went shopping today. The dealers only have the 2006s here, except a GT500 that was coming off the show room floor as I went in. They all seem to be only offering $1,000 off MSRP, which at this late in the season, is not much. In another 2 months, it will be considered a low milage last years car for resale.

What I am wanting to know, when will the non GT and GT500 models to be hitting the dealers? With only $1,000 off, I will most likely wait for the 2007

She looked at a V6 Coupe today that she liked with the Pony Package, nice wheels, that was $23,xxxx. I think I would be better paying sticker on a 2007, than $1,000 off on a last years car.

At 23,xxx you'd be better off paying a couple grand more for a GT. Resale will hold better, and you will thank yourself every day you drive it.

You can usually get a better deal ordering one because it doesn't subtract from the dealer's allocation. Most people report getting around invoice price on orders.

The V6's already are hitting in big numbers, I drove by a dealership today that must have had 10 '07 V6's lined up. You can tell by the funky new rear spoiler they're putting on them. As for the GT500's, those will be hard to find for a while. They're already hitting dealers now, but they're gone almost as soon as they arrive due to preorders.

On V-6's you should be getting $1500 off for a 2007 and more like $2500-$3000 for a 2006. 2007's are out and unless you want the discontiued Legend Lime or Yellow, it probably is the better deal. Even on 2007 GT's I would expect to pay far less than sticker - they are not rare cars anymore (except Shelby).
