2007 GT 5 Speed Manual Question

I have a 2007 GT 5 speed manual and was curious about the total lack of acceleration when in 5th gear. Are these cars more or less 4 speeds with 5th being basically overdrive? I don't get it into 5th very much - do most of my driving around town, but I noticed that when I am on the highway, I just don't get very good acceleration with I'm in 5th gear. Is this normal?

I appreciate the response. I know it was probably a stupid question, but I simply just didn't know.

Gears may be your answer. My car pulls nicely in every gear with 4.10's.

yep 5th gear is for easy crusing above 55mph or so. If you want to pass someone quickly you will need to down shift a gear or two depending on how fast you are going.

Yeah, it is 'normal'. There is nothing in 5th, but don't feel bad as it is common with most manual cars. Even the 6th gear in my old '95 911 was sluggish. I mean it did nothing but cruise, for gas mileage only. No acceleration at all.

I use 5th gear all the time even when cruising 40-45. I know I have no power with it but its fine for my daily driving.
