I for one would love it if Ford was to use House of Kolors colors. So they will totally look like modern day hotrod muscle cars. Oh and I'd perfer it if they only used pearls and candies. That would so freaking own.

So in other words leave the old colors for the old stangs, and use so new way hot colors. Like c'mon people there are way better colors out there then Azure Blue and those old colors. This is a new generation of Mustang and I for one wish they would being them out with new colors. But that's just one mans opinion.

the color orange crush is like the 350z copper with a touch more redorange in it. Its pretty darn slick.
Sounds great. I'll take it in an 05 'Stang please.

Hey , Have you guys gone to the ford gt site on fords web page. It's amazing how ford can make a great web site for a car that isn't avalible to the common consumer. It has a GREAT interactive color viewer for a real Gt pic with the color changes. It has videos, the making of the videos, specs and a whole bunch of neat stuff. I think ford should put a little more effort into the mustang site along the lines of the gt site.Hey ford- we love that gt ,but what about the mustang nuts.
Ford is already behind schedual, they might loose some buyers in the North and north east being so close to winter when the car is released

- Screaming Yellow with Charcoal Leather and Black top for a convertible

- Mineral Grey or Titanium with Red Leather for a coupe, and here's why:

Pearls and candy colors require a third intermediate coat. This requires additional paint booth space, another robot, paint delivery equipment, etc... I doubt they will go with a tri-coat system.

I am sure the paint shop at AAI is maxed out as it is. It is already building the Mazda 6 and I am sure they want to keep as many colors as possible to reduce equipment costs.

It's a European car, an MG Xpower SV, made in the UK by Rover/MG. Actually an interesting car since it's sort of a Mustang bastard. It is based on the Qvale Mangusta (Rover/MG bought that firm bout two years ago) which in it's turn shared a whole buch of components with the SN95 GT. It's got the same engine and base components of the dashboard are also rather familiar. It can be ordered with various power levels of the 4.6. Roush Engineering is involved with tuning and delivery of these engines to MG. Actually MG also builds a 4 door executive saloon with the Mustang engine.

That's not exactly true. Candies yes they need to have 3 coats, but pearls you can make in the base coat alone. The process for mixing the color is basically all the same things as a metallic, but instead of putting in metallic flakes (normally small flakes) they can use pearl flakes instead (there's the different sizes of flakes so that you can get different efects). So technically you can do pearl coats that look like they have been done in 3 coats, two ways:

1. Actually do 3 coats, like most hotrod shops do (not efficiant enough for a car company to do esspecially Ford (since Ford is all about mass production).

2. Just mix up the base coat as stated with pearl flakes in it instead of metallic flakes and mix up some actual hotrod colors. Thus giving the illusion that the paint on the car is infact a 3 coat.

Both ways work, and the second way wont change anything when it comes to Ford producing mustangs. Plus IMHO I'd for one love to see Ford use pearls instead of the regular metallics, just to change things up a bit. Another thing they also need to use different colors like hotrod oranges, hotrod yellow, heck maybe tangellow etc...

Just my $0.02

I asked someone at Ford who is in marketing (and used to be on the 2005 Mustang marketing team) if they could find out the colors for 2006. They said it'd be no problem and they'd get them for me and the only color they could remember off the top of their head was Tungsten (which I believe they meant Titanium) Silver (which we already know due to Dan's interview). I'll let you guys know what I find out as soon as they tell me the colors. B)

D'oh! Actually Tungsten Silver was the silver on the 2005 Concept while Titanium was the color on the NAIAS car. He might have gotten them confused (due to both beginning with a T). I'll still let ya know the color list when I get it.

Autumn orange from 96

The Autumn orange is the rarest color on the fox4 Mustang I seen on one Mustang and it is hot!!!
Actually, Autumn Orange is from '97......and '94 Iris Metallic (1,304), '96 Bright Tangerine (829), and '97 Aztec Gold (1,135) were actually rarer colors for total production between 1994-2004.

I know, I know....there always has to be some wise-cracker in the crowd who pipes up when it comes to production numbers

Not me. Vibrant Red is awesome. I had a 95 GT in Vibrant Red.

Is it Red?
Is it Orange?

Who knows. Boy does it stick out. Ya don't see it much.

Man, I miss that car.

Kaptin, before you said something about a spring SE. I can't remember what though?

Would you be kind enough to elaborate again on what you know/can say about this first SE/stripe package?

Thanks.
