I did read on CNN or somewhere that the US is going to require all cars sold to have the tire pressure monitor by 2007 model year, or was it 2006, I dont remember, but in either case thats most likely why they added that.

--edit--
its 2006 heres the link to the article

what the heck there are barely any newer features...they better have the problems fully fixed that they had from the 05 (shaker issues, clanking noises, gas tanks, etc)

If you look at the paint chips, the vista blue looks darker than the windveil blue, but the cars look the opposite (windveil darker than vista)

If vista is lighter than windveil then I will be disappointed

I had high hopes for vista (visions of grabber blue dancing in my head)

Guess I will have to wait until 2007

My salesman commented that Vista Blue was offered on mustangs about a dozen years ago and was likely lighter than windveil. According to those color chips, he may be right.
A dozen years ago was 1994 (a dozen years before the 06 model). In 93, 94 and 95 they had a "bright blue" (see 1st picture below). In 95 they also had a sapphire blue which is very similar to sonic blue and looks nothing like the link in the 1st post of this thread.

In 93 they also had royal blue (2nd picture-too dark) and reef blue (#3 below possibly too dark)

In 92 (great year if you wanted a blue mustang) they had bimini blue (#4), light crystal blue, also a 90 & 91 color (#5), , twighlight blue (too dark), also a 90 & 91 color (#6), and ultra blue (#7)

96 they only had moonlight blue (my car's color)

Of these, bright blue, bimini blue, and ultra blue are possibilities.

If it is indeed a previous mustang color approximately a dozen years ago, I would bet on light crystal blue.

FYI,

Neither the windveil blue (#1 picture) or the vista blue (#2 picture) on this link
https://www.fleet.ford.com/showroom/2006fle...?Model=Mustang#

looks like the windveil blue that we all know (#3 picture from 05 clipart).

Yea I agree, I think fords websites dont do a good example of showing the colors at all, here is what fordvehicles inventory shows for sonic blue vs my car, even with a huge glare off my car it still isnt as light as the little example car they have on the site

Just noticed if you change the 2006 in the link to 2005 you get the 05 colors, lol
and the windveil, even though off from what it really is slightly, is the same as the 06 one, which leads me to believe that the vista is truely lighter than the windveil. Glad I got my sonic, was never a fan of the lighter blues

Good eye. Also they don't list redfire in the 05 section

I guess redfire is not a fleet color. Which may mean that not all the 06 colors are listed on that link. I had another thread that showed mineral grey continuing for 06. Info came from this link

Anyone notice the lower grille difference, it looks like the pre production cars with the "bars" painted.

Integrated Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) comes standard on all 2006 Mustangs

:bang:

Wonder if that can be retro-fitted? This is something I always thought that should have come with the Message Center.

From the linked website:
"Always wear your safety belt and secure children in the rear seat. "

Yeah, that's the best place for them!

I wonder what the "Second generation air bag system" is? Was there a defect with the first generation? I dunno why you would get hyped up over tire pressure sensors. You can pretty much just look at a tire and see if it is lacking air.

I'm sure they can... It's probably just a matter of adding a sensor on the wheel somewhere and running a cable to the onboard computer. I wouldn't think it's too much more complicated then installing the rearview mirror with compass and temprature.

I believe most folks have come to the conclusion that LG & LL are the same color they just changed the name. If there is a change it would be very subtle such as Ebony has a "wet" look compared to the black used this year.

From Ford's own website: http://www.ford.com/en/innovation/safety/airBags.htm
What is meant by "Second Generation" or "depowered"?

Second Generation air bags have been depowered to inflate with less force than previous-generation air bags. The air bags are depowered by reducing the peak inflation pressure and/or rise rate. Rise rate is the force and speed with which an air bag inflates, which is controlled by factors such as type and amount of inflator gas, air bag size, and the vent design in the bag itself.

All auto manufactures have 2nd gen. They went to this because alot of people were getting injured with the super inflation of the 1st generation. Kids were getting killed by them, in fact. Although 2nd gen. don't inflate with as much force now, kids are still recommended in the back seat, away from air bags.

As for the TPS...its just one of those creature comforts. And usually if you can see the tire is too low, its really too low.
