Anyone else think sideview mirrors would look better being same as body color, and not just black?
(excuse my lame ps skills, but you get the idea)

Yeah, much better painted body color. I don't know why Ford is so behind the eight ball on this. I mean, it was available on 1971 Mach 1s for crying out loud.
If I were guessing, I'd say it's another cost-cutting measure.

This looks like a vette with a coupe front end.

My thought on the mirrors is keep them black. If you had 2 cars driving towards you on the road, 1 with black mirrors and the other painted, the painted ones would stand out like a sore thumb. The black ones tend to fade into the background and all you initially notice is the cars body. I rather be checking out the overall look of a car, not the mirrors.

I like the body colored mirrors. Some of the new Fords have body colored inserts over the top half of the mirrors (like the Freestar below). This looks very nice IMO. The black plastic mirrors look a bit cheap.

FYI that pic is a FreeSTYLE. The FreeSTAR is the Minivan. I don't know what Ford was thinking in naming them so similar.

^ I think that's why Ford didn't go with the inserts. Doesn't look that great IMO. As joe said, if they were integrated better the entire mirror being body coloured would look the best. Half the mirror doesn't look so hot as it draws attention to them (two colour).
