A 2005 Mustang is in Tucson today, as part of the 40 City Mustang Tour. It was featured on the local morning news - appears they are out at the aiport per the tour schedule. So it does appear that the 2005 is with the Tour and perhaps coming to your town. Yeah, ok enough intro - heres the news on the car
Its the metallic red, split spoke mag, red leather interior with premium interior trim. The morning news guy is a bit of a car buff and had pretty intelligent questions for the Ford rep. Nothing new to us, but for a morning news show, our guy really did his homework on the car-I think he suprised the rep a little bit. He asked if the base v6 would sell for under $18K, Ford Rep said that the base v6 will go for under $20K. He then asked if the base V8 would go for $23K, and the ford rep said it will go for under $25K. I'm off to catch it at the airport before work and take some photos - if not maybe catch it at the Ford dealership this afternoon.

I'm guessing a base V6 at $19,999 and a base GT at $24,999 :-)

Yep - it was a GT. I missed it at the airport - should be at the dealership later today. I'm going to call to confirm, but then its a matter of me being able to get away from the office at the right time. I think its supposed to depart before 5 pm.

Err. they should be in my city (San Diego) tomorrow but I have some work bs getting in the way. I was planning to take the day off and roll with everyone. What is the best way to time it up to see the 2005?

Ok gang, here's some photos. This was absolute pure luck. Someone was watching out for me today. I was planning on going to see it at lunch as a "drive by" the dealership with some supportive co workers. That fell through at the last minute, but at the place we were having lunch, the noon news was doing a feature on the car and mentioned it would be at a location right on my way home. Unfortunately, it was "trapped" in the trailer, but I think I still got some good photos.
They also had the 300,000th (?) '04 convertable behind it in the back half of the trailer. Everyone was asking " Can you take it out?" And the answer was "No!" each time. Technically, I think it had been out of the trailer 3 or 4 times already that day, and one of those times the front bumper got damaged. Seeing they have quite a few more cities left to go, they may not be so willing to take it out of the trailer as much.
Everyone was saying how in person it really is even better than the photos. The rep also said the Ford dealer today took 10 pre-orders. I'm thinking that (with my budget being the main factor) that I'll get a V6 with these wheels and the interior upgrade package, color not sure - sure do like the show car titanium w/ stripes but this red was pretty impressive.
