Thumbs up

I was bidding on this over the weekend, I did not win it tho...
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...TRK%3AMEWA%3AIT

I would be more than happy to make some DVD copies to pass around if anyone has a copy of this...anyone have a buddy in the shop? You think this would be better than the
actual manuals from Ford?

Dennis.

No I haven't myself, would be interesting though. One thing I have seen people bidding on is 15k over invoice for an 05 GT convertible and coupe. I'll find the link.

Yeah these are pretty nice, i have one for my 96 and it was really helpful. Keep in mind it was made in 96 so these should be really sweet.

Where did you buy it from? I would be interesting in ordering one, perhaps, if you find it useful.

I got one. I posted info on This Thread. It is nice. It includes all 2005 cars. So if you have a friend with an 05 car, you can help them out too.

It does show all the same things as a typical manual. It also has Ford Part numbers.

I tried to copy it, but it was 4.88 GB. Bigger than a 4.7 DVD. So I was not sure how to copy it after that.

My husband is an automechanic at a lincoln mercury dealer.

These are the disks they use for reference in the shop. They are only good for about 6 months (not exactly sure how long), then they expire. After the disk expires, you can get around it by changing the date on your computer. They are an excellent source of information.

They last one year. I accidentally got a 2004 - 2005 version first and had that problem. The guy explained the trick about changing the date.

When you install the disk, it asks you for a Ford Access Number. I guess if you have access, you can link to Fords info. That would get you updated TSBs.

I just got mine in yesterday. Very nice. They make it easy to print out the information you need, so you can always have a CLEAN copy to work with. Some of my hard copy shop manuals get UGLY after a couple of years of use...

Just for practice, I'll probably edit the executable to elemenate the date check. It should be VERY easy to find the test and change that conditional jmp to an unconditional jmp.

Bill,

Forgot to add, go to Helm 2005 Mustang service manuals to order the hard copies. They are expensive. My mom works for a Ford dealer and when I asked her to look into getting a set of factory service manuals for me, she ended up coming back with Helm. She said that is the official source of service manuals for my car.
