2005 Mustang GT / Steeda Q400 Any Good?
Hello everybody,
Semi locally I see a 2005 Ford GT Mustang / Steeda Q400 for sale. Mileage is 17,000 miles. I texted Steeda with the car's vin number and they confirmed with me that it is a Steeda Q400. Car also appeared to have black matte wheels / look like steeda wheels, 19x10, 19x11. Don't say steeda but sure look like them. Steeda also told me that these wheels did not originally come with the Steeda build. Lots of cool parts. Only things I would add would be Steeda shocks and maybe a big brake kit. They are asking #18,950.00. Good street, track car? What do you guys think? I heard the trans in this car is better than the t82 trans. Kind of a catch 21, better trans but less power than 5.0 mustang. Ger.

I don't know the details of that package, assume it is NOT supercharged, correct?
I'd compare price to a normal 2005 Mustang GT and then think about how much I was willing to pay for the Steeda bits . . .so it would be good to know what Steeda bits it has. Did you get any information from Steeda, about what that package included?
2005 was the first year of the S197 platform and they did have a few issues, you can get a feel for those by scanning the threads in the 2005-2009 forum. Most of those basic issues would not be addressed by the Steeda package.
I assume it has the normal TR3650 5-speed transmission. That is a good solid 5-speed but it's down one gear versus the later Chinese MT82. The 4.6 3V is generally a solid engine, but it's down about 100 HP versus the later Coyote (assuming it is not supercharged).
$19K seems high to me, but the used car market is crazy these days
