Folks, new to the forum. Placed a "Z Plan" order for a GT Vert on December 10. Is the January 31, 2005 buiold ate for Verts still actual? Has anyone ordered a Vert and received a build date? Hopefully the IUP won't be an issue for Verts.

My GT Premium Vert was ordered November 1st and the order included the IUP (18G).
The status is currently listed (as of January 10th) as "clean and unscheduled". The only thing that has changed since November 1st is the "priority"; ...it went from 10 to 12 (I presume this is a result of the delayed production due to the 18G situation).

I will let you know as things develop.

As far as I know priority is dealership side only not ford. This most likely means they wouldn’t pick your convertible and the dealership didn’t want to lose the allocation so they pushed you back.

They started making verts this week, check out Karpro's week 2 stats, but none of them with IUP.

From what I understand from Ford Customer Service Verts might not be produced until April or later...

I called Ford Customer Service yesterday, and gave them the dealer's "order number" (a four (4) digit code). They couldn't find anything related to this order even being placed. My hope is that since this is a "Z Plan" order, Ford will treat it with a better priority status. And again, hope this IUP issue doesn't backlog my Vert order any longer than it should take.

IUP will backlog your Convert order the same as a Coupe.
Convertible allocation does not automatically include IUP allocation.

When the dealer gets their allocation for a scheduling period (currently four weeks of February build), there are three different numbers.
1. Overall Mustang allocation - for Canadian dealers GT vs V6 is not controlled.
2. IUP allocation.
3. Convertible allocation.

If example allocation numbers are 15, 4 and 1 then an order breakdown would be as follow:
1 Convert with 1 IUP
3 Coupes with 3 IUP (other sold IUP orders must be carried over till next month)
- These 4 orders cover the IUP allocation.
11 Coupes without IUP must be ordered for stock to cover the balance of the commitment.

Regardless of whether it is A or Z Plan, the dealer puts the priority on their orders to determine which will be serialized for the scheduling build week, not Ford (but of course Ford does have "political" influence).
Once the vehicle is serialized, Ford only controls when it will be built throughout the build week.

Ask your dealer how many orders for converts AND IUP are ahead of yours. That will give you a better indication of when you may get yours.

Thanks "mstang". As of my last visit to the dealer (January 7), I was still the ONLY Vert order they had (I ordered it on December 10, 2004). This should bode well with upcoming allocations, since the Verts are very close to production. Hopefully, IUP won't be an issue either.
