Hello All,

I was recently approched by a gentlemen who wants to produce some billet items for the 2005 Mustang. What type of items would be of interest to 05 owners? The first thing that I think I would like is a Grille Insert. I loaned him an GT grille to do a little R&D on. If there is a lot of interest in a particular item it could become a reality. I would appreciate a some constructive ideas. This can be interior, exterior, engine or whatever.

Thanks
KC

Billet Pedals and (short) shifter.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I've seen neither for the 2005. If I'm wrong send me a link cause I'm ordering now.

Thanks my grammarly challenged friend. Just kidding, if you can get either made that would be cool, I would buy them.

I have heard some complain about the fog lamps in the GT grille how about an insert that would conceal without removing the lamps?

Please explain that more in detail as I am not familiar with the complaints and I'm not sure what your fix is. Also why did you quote your self?

I want to relocate the fogs as well as downsize them. Also want to replace the grille with a horizontal chrome bars total of 6 to 10 bars depending on their size. That to me would be a great upgrade on an otherwise great car.

I would like to see a billet cupholder bezel to fit the dual opening on the '05.
I think this would really spruce up that dull section of the console.

Sounds funny untill you see the following picture of one for an '04 Stang by MGWltd.

I found them but they have a touch of Steeda. I would rather they didn't but I will think about them.

How about the e-brake handle, or trimmed in aluminum.

Dear Altoid,

It has been stated in other forums that some people prefer the v6 grille to the v8 grille. Since the v6 grill attaches differently than the v8 grille it is not a direct swap. I have verified this as I currently have both grilles in my possession. So a billet overlay which covers the lamps may offer an option to that concern. It would limit their effectiveness somewhat but would give it a cleaner look.

As far as the Quote I love talking to myself.

I had forgot about this one. The bullit cover was great but will not adapt to the 05. This is a must have. What would you like it to look like?

I was unaware of this, I took a look at the V6 grill and I don't see a difference other then the fog lamps. I would take a V6 grill if the lamps were placed on the bottom grill-thing. But I thanks for answering my question. As for Shea request I would also love that.

Also attached is the shifter that I would like to request hopefully others want it as well. Only downside is in the heat but I've driven the 2001 Bullitt and it isn’t that bad, not that it gets really, really hot in California.

Dear Altoid, unless you have both grilles out and in front of you they look like a direct swap but the mounting tabs are different. I also remember reading where somebody had tried the swap and there was a gap at the bottom where the grille meets the bumper.

05StangKC,

What is the next step? How long will it be before I can order the Billet gas cap cover?

BTW - the pictures of the other gas cap covers are perfect, especially the one the holderca1 posted from Bullitt.

Thanks for doing this.

I saw a grille on the 2004 that look great, similar to the 1970 Mustang I believe. But it had the look of the normal billet grilles (not quite as gawdy) with the running pony offset to the left of the grille with the red/white/blue stripe.

I would love to see something like that for th 05.
