Hey, guys. I just wanted to ask for some help in coming up with some design ideas and or slogan to put in the drawing that my girlfriend and I will be doing in June at the Absolut Chalk street painting fest.

I have something in mind already. (see picture below) I was thinking of using this with a 2005 GT Mustang instead of the concept, leaving "The MustangSource.com" of course. As for a slogan, I was thinking of something like "Saddled up and ready to ride..." But I do not know if I will even include a slogan. I may just scap the whole side by side thing and use an artistic shot of the 2005 by itself. It will probably seem more clean by itself without any text.

Also, anyone in the Pasadena, California area please stop by. Hopefully we will be to only ones there drawing the 2005 Mustang, therefor, easy to find. There is no admission charge and it runs June 19th and 20th from 10:00am to 7:00pm both days.

Thanks again.

Sounds cool. Just be sure to post pics when it's done, eh? I'll see if I can think of a cool slogan to suggest. Good luck with the festival and I hope there's not a cloud in the sky those days.

Here's the first concept sketch, done by my girlfriend, of what we will draw. Though, I want mine in black, I will, in the final sketch, probably go with a Torch or Redfire.

I'm no art critic, but doesn't the front bumper look a little too big?

Think it was meant to be a rough sketch.

Just thought I would send you guys an UPDATE of what's going on.

I hope some of you guys from the boards that are in the area can stop by and say "hey". It will be held at the Paseo Colorado mall in Pasadena, California, located at the corner of Colorado Blvd. and Garfield, right next to city hall. Admission is free and you can park WEST of the mall, on Colorado Blvd in Old Town for 90 minutes for free, as well.

We have picked and drawn out the final design. Unfortunately, my girlfriend has the painting, so I have no photo right now. It is a one foot by one foot canvas, which will be up for auction at the show. There will also be an car show at the event (ON SUNDAY) and since we are drawing the 2005 Mustang, we were allowed to draw right next to the show.

I will be bringing my digital camera, so I can share it with you guys.

Thanks for your time,
John Romero

It'd be phat up if you were able to do it like some crazy sidewalk art I've seen that appears three-dimensional. Have the 2005 driving out of the sidewalk or something.

Hey all,

I finally got my computer running again. Just went through a format of the hard drive. Uggg... now I am up and running again.

First off, I want to say that it was fun, but it had its draw backs. Like I said before they wanted our drawing to be near the car show. However, I did not know that this meant that they wanted us off away from most of the other art.

I, with my recent streak of bad luck, ended up ripping a contact lens. I had to go get another set. So, by the time we got there, all the good places were taken. We ended up with a HIDEOUSLY bad location. We were in the left turn lane (of the 3-way intersection that was closed off). Not only that, but we had to deal with a groove right through the center of the designated space, two different textures (asphalt and cement), and the street light sensor circle (made out of what seemed to be some kind of rubber).

Overall, I think it came out ok for what we had to work on. We had much bigger plans for it. Since we had so much to overcome and the fact that everyone was stepping on it and running baby strollers right over it (you will see in a later picture what we did about this), we went with a simple approach.

Most people seemed to like it. PLUS, I feel like I was selling cars all over again. At least this time it wasn’t Chrysler. One guy that stopped by asked me if I was doing it for Ford and if I was getting paid. Too bad for me, I didn’t think of that ahead of time. Another thing that was really cool was that this little kid, probably around 5-7 years old, ran up and his family asked him what it was, and the little boy said, “THAT’S A GT MUSTANG!” I was so happy to see that family starting him so young.

I also just found out that my MOM bid on Adriana’s painting and she won it for me. Anyway, I am going to start posting pictures now.

PS: Vega, I wish I was THE JOHN ROMERO from Doom. Heck, I even wish I was related to George Romero or even Caesar Romero … just a little trivia for all you folks out there.
