I couldn't agree more Tom ! As my 3 previous Mustangs were all Black and just like you said, there's so many Black Mustangs around where as Legend Lime is a more desirable color due to the fact they were only available during the 2005-06 model year

Make no mistake...black is stunning, but it takes a lot of extra elbow grease to keep it that way. Nothing looks more amazing than a mile-deep finish on a black Mustang. And nothing looks more terrible than a black Mustang that's neglected.
Mine looks d@mn good today despite the swirls and holograms visble in direct sunlight. I'm trying to work up the ***** to use my new DA buffer this week and start correcting the surface scratches.

LL (or it's variant) was a great color on the later 60's Mustangs, especially the '67 GT350/500...my favorite year of the Shelby. That's what comes to mind when I see an S197 in that color.

I also agree how the S197 reminds you so much of those 1st generation 67/68 Shelby GT350/500 fastbacks, especially the ones in Legend Lime and IMHO the styling of the S197 is Ford's modern interpretation of those classic 1st generation 65-70 Mustangs..
Needless to say when I first saw the S197 concept version back in 2003, I was so blown away and couldn't believe my eyes at first, as I never thought I'd ever see a Mustang that resembled nor even came close to looking anything like the 67/68 fastback models ever again, but Ford proved me wrong and from that very moment I knew that I was going to own one no matter what it took and have been a very proud owner of 2 S197 fastbacks since 2005..
I also feel the same way when it comes to black cars as I previously owned 2 Fox body Mustangs in black and also had a 78 King Cobra ala Mustang II in black as well.. Although I agree that nothing looks more stunning than black, your absolutely spot on that it takes a lot of hard work and elbow grease just in order to keep it that way..
But unfortunately my body could no longer withstand the physical toll my joints took from all that hard work and elbow grease I put into detailing my cars year after year like I used to back in the day lol. and nothing is more annoying than seeing those hideous hologram and swirl marks on a black car, especially when in direct sunlight as they visually stick out more like a sore thumb than on any other color IMHO..
In the meantime, I really hope everything works out for you with your new DA buffer for correcting those surface scratches

My car got all $hitted up from wax remover, dust, and hand prints when I got the stripes last week. I went to wash it and all the crap gummed up and it looked like a barn find.
I spent the next day hand compounding it with Meguiars Scratch-X, and I was encouraged with the results. While far from perfect, swirls and defects were a bit less noticeable. I know a buffer will do a far superior job with less physical toll.
As good as I think it looks here, it's still not a mile-deep, wet looking shine. Hopefully the buffer will take care of that.

IMO your Mustang looks really great and I'm sure that your buffer will indeed do a far superior job with far less physical toll on your joints while also providing you with that mile-deep, wet looking shine once again as well
