Question 2 different Shelby Light bars?

I have been looking for a light bar for my Vert that has no 'light' in it and was looking towards the Aeroform one, but I just ran accross the Shelby website and noticed they have 2 light bars now, one with a light and the other without! The one without is only $349, but from the pictures I have found, I can't tell if it is just the same as the 'lighted' Shelby version or if it is slanted back a little... I like how the 'original version' looks, so that's what I want... Does anyone have any info by chance? I can't seem to find a pic of the Shelby GT-H Vert from the side to make a good comparison!

Here's pics of the two...

I say Aeroform: install is super easy, it fits in the trunk, and the texture is identical to the stock panels.

But, that's all assuming you like the slant-back look. Here's a real pic of mine with the Aeroform. If you want other pics, just let me know. Boltzman also has the bar, and I think that we're the only two on the forum (89Trooper did have it, but then took it off) If you search Aeroform, you should be able to find some other threads/pics on TMS, just to give you an idea of how it will look.

In regard to Shelby's, I'm honestly not sure what it will be like.

Trust me, I was about >< this close to buying the Aeroform one when I spotted the Shelby one... I am not sure if I like the slant or not... I wish I could see it in person... I know I like the regular version...

I emailed Shelby, so we'll see if they can help...

all i know is alot of people complain that Shelby does not tell you the shipping cost until after the order is placed but then again i have not ordered from them before but i do know they tell you the shipping cost in the invoice e-mail and not at purchase. And usally their shipping cost is high

I've got a CDC light bar. Install wasn't difficult at all. Light shuts off when the top is up. Fit and finish are perfect.

Yep, that is correct... I went through that when I ordered my Shelby GT grille... Luckily, since I live relatively close, shipping wasn't *really* bad, but I definitely didn't like how they didn't tell you what shipping was up front...

Looks good! I just prefer not to have the light at all... If CDC made one sans/light, I would pick it up... I just don't like that there is 4 lights on the back of the car when the top is down, that's just my opinion...

The Shelby looks exactly like the CDC light bar. If you're worried about shipping then check CDC's shipping fees as the price is the same at both sites. Also look into after market sellers as a lot of online parts houses sell the CDC light bar.

Well, I just got an email back from Shelby and they said that both bars are identical except for the light, so I think I will be going with the Shelby version... I am however going to look at a couple different places online to see if I can get it somewhere else (hopefully a place that *does* tell me what shipping will be)... I did a search the other day and found a couple places that carry it...

I haven't seen an unlighted bar on the Shelby site. I'm curious as to who makes it as the lighted one looks exactly like the CDC. I wouldn't think that Shelby would re-invent the wheel but rather enter into an OEM contract with CDC or the manufacturer of the CDC bar. I also like the spelling of brake light on their site, "BREAK". Did they outsource their web designing to an un-named Asian country?

LOL!

It looks to be a Scott Drake piece, it is listed here: http://www.partscheap.com/scottdrake05.htm

It's about a 1/4 of the way down...

It is also listed on the Shelby site, it just doesn't have a picture for some reason: http://www.shelbyperformanceparts.co...ing%20bar.aspx

I suggest you call CDC and see if they offer the bar without the light. We have three CDC's in the family and everyone is happy with them.

I emailed CDC, we'll see what happens...

And is the Saleen one being sold as just a bar? It's not on their website...

The saleen bar was supposed to be sold by itself. I would just call them.

But, I can tell you that the saleen bar is going to slope back as well.

The Aeroform bar is available on e-bay for 300 including shipping. Look at the instructions as the CDC seems to mount more solidly.

That being said, I am still leaning towards the Aeroform due to the lack of lighting and price.

Actually, the Aeroform bar is QUITE solid, and requires NO drilling into the frame/b-pillar. Plus, it can be taken off and placed in the trunk if ever desired.

Have no fear...the Aeroform bar is NOT an "imitation", but instead competition. Also, their customer service is GREAT!!!!...similar to MGW's and SHR's.
