I'm hoping that this poll will sway Ford to offer the rims before the 06MY through the dealers as a Ford Racing Part.

I think the results of the poll will show this.

Just make the current upgraded 17's 18 inches. And keep those ugly torque thrust rims the 17 option. No more retro crap.

What does that have to do with this poll? Start a poll saying: who wants 17's in an 18" size

It was a stupid responce to a stupid poll. Noone cares. And if they do, they are wasting their time because Ford doesn't. Youll get 18 inch rims when you get them, not before, no matter how many lame polls and petitions you script.

Watch the attitude buddy...

No poll is stupid. You may find it stupid but there are a lot of people on here that would be happy to see a poll like this.

If you don't like it, don't post. Pretty simple.....or so you'd think.

Why? what is the point? To dillude yourselves into thinking Ford cares? Ford cares about 1 thing...making more money for Ford. If 18 inch wheels are profitable, you'll get them, when it's most profitable to offer them. If not, you won't. Same with IRS and SE's and everything else you all argue about.

I personally love this poll.

There are a lot of enthusiasts disappointed that there are no 18's for MY05. It would be nice if Ford could accomodate us somehow. Besides, I am sure that we will have to pay a premium to get these wheels, but I want the 18's as much as Dan, so I would go for it for a reasonable price.

Ford has done something like this in the past apparently, the chromed wheels for the '03 Cobra were delayed and they did a swap with the owners who wanted them. If they do it again depends on how successful it was the last time they did it.

If they do it and don't offer it in Canada, looks like I am stuck driving down to the states to get the wheels and my car de-spoilered.

I'm eagerly anticipating the 18" tire option, so this poll works for me. In fact, at this point, I probably won't take delivery of the '05 GT that I ordered, and wait until the car I want (18's) is offered (I didn't put any $ down). So maybe Ford will accomodate those who want the 18's before MY '06. If not, I'll most likely be waiting until '06.

Some people say "what's the big deal about 18's". For me its not as much about the 18's as it is the 55 series tires being offered with the 17's. They look like Explorer tires to me. I'd be happy with the current 245/45/17 setup on my '02 GT.

IMO there are enough people in this forum who would like the 18's sometime during MY '05 to justify this poll, whether it influences Ford or not.

So I guess all the people that wrote Ford to prevent a FWD Mustang, just wasted their time.

Out of curiousity . . and laziness of not performing a 'search'. . has a 'price point' been fixed in regards to the 18" option?

Some people don't fully understand the power that we the consumer hold.

I must be stupid since I like this poll as well. I would love to have the opportunity to upgrade to the 18in wheels if I can afford it. Ford shouldn't show us the wheels on a production model when they can't deliver and setting up some type of swap or Ford Racing Product option would be a good way to make things right. The only thing stupid about a poll is posting a stupid response when you don't care about the issue.

You said it! This is for entertainment purposes mostly, but if ford did happen to be pursuaded by one of the largest mustang sites in the world that would be great.

Millions of people play the lottery everyday, They probably won't win but at least they have a chance. What's the harm in trying?

Great poll Dan.

Oh by the way... I voted YES on 18's

I too like the looks of the 18" rims. If they were both affordable and available I would consider upgrading to them.

Good Poll. At least there are people at Ford who are aware of this site. They do pay attention to the consumer even if you do not think so. <_<

If the real reason for not offering the 18" rims was a safety concern then I do not fault Ford for waiting to release them. I would rather have the safety issues worked out then offered through Ford racing at a latter time. B)

Agreed, if it is an issue with mass producing the car, and not having the capacity to put them on the car from the factory....
18's available through the dealer (at more than likely a larger premium than from factory) would they be worth it?

I think so.

If it is witheld because of further testing, and durability issues, then we probably won't see them till next year earliest.

Either or, we'll see.
I'd like to see what SVT offers as well.
Cobra rims have always been very cool and not too flashy...
If I have to get 17s with All seasons...and wait for 18s.
At least by then I'll have a choice

can we find out who the manfacture of the 18 rim is .... then contact them?
I think that the symbol on the rim is who the manufacture is... and is the same symbol that is on the cobra r wheels...
let's go to the top.... in this case ford is not the top... the manufacture is!
