I know you can't get the 18"s on the production models at this time. But anybody think we can get them next year maybe? or did SVT steal them? they do get first choice at parts. oh and for anybody who doesn't know what I'm talking about. I'm talking about the 18" Rims on a Couple of the Mules.

That's what he's saying. They will probably be out on the '06 stang, which is (apparently) long before the next SVT will be ready.

only ford knows the answer....and they ain't saying anything yet.

If they aren't available at launch, I will see what SVT has to offer in the way of 'cobra' rims when its launched, and then decide what rims to grab. 18s, or the SVT rims..(which COULD be one in the same)
(i doubt it though, ford debuted them on the GT....i think it would be wrong for them to swing it around and put them on the Cobra model)

I read that the 18's will be an option for the 06 model.
Anybody know who is making the 18's?? I know its not Alcoa or Amcast.
Is it Prime??
There must of been some quality issues or the wheel would be an option now. Or Ford is trying to find someone else who will make it cheaper.

The interior/exterior styling engineering manager that I met told me that SVT took them, so one can assume that they will be on the special edition that comes out in March.

Does SVT produce the SE (Mach 1 type, non-Cobra) models? I was under the impression that the SE's come straight from Ford, and not SVT.

As far as the 18's are concerned, it seems like different Ford reps have different stories. At the Pony Drive II event in L.A. a few months back, Mark Rushbrook, the Mustang's chief platform engineer (I think thats his title) said the 18's would be available on the GT about a year after the car's launch.

Who knows what to believe at this point?
