For those wanting something different and very low mileage. I wonder what it will go for? https://www.mecum.com/lot-detail/FL0...ial/Automatic/

Twister Registry .... LOL ....

Nice decal special done by God knows who.

It's an orange '07 convertible GT. Whatever that's worth.

No sale! It was bid up to $45,000. I'm surprised the seller didn't let it go.

$45,000 for a 3V with some stickers and a shaker hoodscoop built by someone that no one has ever really heard of?! I would have easily let the car go for that kind of money. I think when it is time to sell my car I will send it to Mecum because apparently the people going there have more money then brains. Maybe I can get 60K for my car haha!

was interested in what this was...so a quick trip through google came up with this...

"In 2008, R&A Motorsports, in collaboration with Ford, once again offered a Twister Special Mustang. As with the original release, a total of 96 late-model S197 Twister Special Mustangs were produced for sale in the Kansas City area."

He should had dropped his reserve at 40k and considered himself lucky for getting 40k out of a car that has nothing really special about it..

I'm sure if he had taken his car to Barrett-Jackson, it wouldn't had sold for more than 35k IMHO..

I agree Rocky.

Aside from all that, I do think it's s nice looking car. ANd it's well kept and got super low mileage. Not really feeling the wheels or transmission, but I would use it as a daily driver during the summer months, instead of the truck. Drop the top on the way to and from work and be pimping. LOL
Okay,...also maybe add a ProCharger.

Tony, although I agree it's well kept, has very low mileage and is very nice looking.. This isn't a factory SE variant, but rather a dealer package consisting of a hood scoop and striping kit.. Other than that, it's still a regular Mustang GT that's now 8 years old..

IMHO his car isn't even worth 45k and therefore should had taken the 45k when he had the chance.. As I really don't think anybody in their right mind is going to give him what he thinks this car is worth

I would still daily drive it during the summer months and slap a ProCharger on, just for a little fun. OH yeah, and put the top down on the way to and from work on those nice summer days. You know,.....just to work on my Sicilian tan.

I totally agree if it were my car ? I'd just hold onto it and enjoy driving as a cruiser during the summer months, taking it to car cruise/car show events and of course, do some mod upgrades like adding a supercharger along with a lowering kit as well

Aaaand KBB says it's worth $18,732. So that's all it's worth to me. (That intake hose though... )

He definitely should've taken the $45,000, cuz that bidder is crazy. The owner must have really gotten sucked into the dealership's BS, and really thinks he has a piece of Mustang gold.

Edit: It does look nicely equipped and well kept. But even if you add the mods onto the price, it's still only a $20,000 car.

It may have gotten up that high and no sold, due to the only bidders in the room being employees of meecum. If I understand correctly the auction places do place bidders in the room who's sole job is to bid up the price.

Maybe, but they are only supposed to help it get to the reserve price.

I honestly have no personal experience with it, it was just my understanding that it did occur. I could be completely off base.

You are correct. Mecum freely acknowledges that they have bidders that help get the car to the reserve price. By making that honest disclaimer it eliminates the illegality of 'shill' bidding. Now if only the other auction houses were so honest, and ebay too.
