Why would you repaint the car and not fix the bullet holes?

That thing has had quite a rough life by the look of it. Sad really...

Looks to me like the car was repainted before the bullet holes were put there.

That's one pony that looks like it has been ridden hard and put away wet. So sad to see.

 

Wow! What a shame. That Bullitt is really beat up. I wonder if it has been in the water. The engine bay and interior looked like they were possibly water damaged.

 

If it was cheap enough, I'd take it, and since it's already beaten, it'd be my beater car. A really nice beater, for a beater, but still a beater. With Nav. You gotta like that...

I think that white stuff that looks like water damage are the kilos of coke that exploded when they shot up the poor car.

 

Looks like a bullet hole in the dash vent too. Hopefully, one of the dopers didn't "leak". Biohazard stuff is not fun to clean up.

Also, it has a GT500 trunk emblem.

 

It would make a good doner for a race car build.

I betcha this car will be worth big bucks a few years down the road- have you guys heard about the Harrah's Plymouth Superbird? Ended up in a similar situation in 1970 or so, and was recently auctioned off in restored condition.
That said, I won't touch it- let somebody else restore a new car.
BTW- Isn't it ironic that some drug traffickers were using a cop's car (Frank Bullitt) to try to flee from the law in?

Looks like the car was shot into from the driver side. That would allow for the hit on the dash, and the fact the two holes in the passenger door appear to be exit holes.

I wonder what else might have been done to this car before the dealer got it and made it "ready" for sale.

 

Someone needs to put this car back to it's former glory!!!
