07 trunk struts
When I pop the trunk release, the trunk unlatches but stays down almost like it's closed. Has anyone changed the struts to pop up halfway or all the way? I don't like pulling on the spoiler or reaching down by the bumper to pull up the trunk lid.

I have been wanting to do that but I believe with the geometry the way it is the struts won't do anything until the trunk is about half way up. I don't know that stronger struts would do anything. We need something to give it that initial push.

Probably so.. Still I'd like to put some type of motorized opener for hood and trunk. Obviously with the hood, the safety catch would have to be removed and both connected so they would only open in park (AT) or with parking brake on (MT).

I'm glad it has to be lifted. On 2 different occasions I've had grocery bags slide in the trunk and pull the tab in there popping the release while I was driving. Glad it stayed down until I could pull over and close it again.

Maybe. But they would have to be pretty long springs and probly still need different/stronger struts. The trunk has to be about half way opened before the stock struts take over. I like the idea, how many times have you had your hads full and still able to pop the trunk, to have to set your case of beer down to open the trunk. I think maybe changing the angle and stroke of the struts would do the trick. Maybe add a third strut just to push the lid up.

They wouldn't have to be any longer than the stock ones, just stronger. Enough bounce to pop the lid up which is what the stock ones are designed to do....they just don't work overly well.
