'07 Mustang sales losing traction
Expanding upon one's heritage is great, resting on one's laurels is not as a long, illustrious past does not garuantee future success, only continual improvement, and meeting or exceeding existing and future expectations will do that.
The Stang's had it very, very easy the past couple of years, competition wise, so Ford ought not to get to fat, lazy and complacent as some tough, hungry new kids will soon be showing up on the block. But that recent Ford poll indicates they're toying with some compelling upgrades, let's hope they actually implement them.
I personally think sales would continue to fall. I hate to say it but yesterday someone at work compared the mustang to a cavalier/sunfire. Quote "there are as many mustangs, if not more, on the road now as there is cavaliers and sunfires. I was thinking about buying one but why would I want something that everyone else has".
At least I can still say I was one of the first to own one......but if I didn't buy one yet I too would hold off and see if there is a redesign in the future just because of how many there are driving around now.

They're certainly not on every block.
Once the general public hears about poor build quality, design flaws and poor dealer service, the sales will drop off the board. Can you tell as a first time Ford buyer I am a little ****ed?????
If the S197 came out the box in 2005 with 400 plus hp and IRS, folk would still find something to complain about on the car. Ah, what's life without complaining. Just be patient and whoever you are waiting for the perfect Mustang can FINALLY pull the trigger in 2014. By then we'll be able to get a 500 hp GT and a 1000 hp GT500. Then the complaint will be;(whining) "The GT500 had 500 hp back in 2007. Ford drop the ball this time. The GT should at least have 520 hp."
Ford's reputation for quality precedes them, and if I'm honest, it worries me, too.
Sorry to hear about your troubles. Apparently there is supposed to be a TSB for the water leak out shortly.
