I just read on the MSN review site on the Mustang, a dealer told some guy that Ford will continue production of 05 models and the 06's won't be out until October or November! Anyone else hear of anything like this? Is this true? I hope not, because I just ordered an 06 last friday!

I hope not.....there's been WAAAAY too many already...

 

Probably what your dealer meant to say is that all existing 05 orders will be moved over to 06 orders and be filled first. Then new 06 orders placed will come in after that.

 

The way I understood it was that Ford does not discern between the old 05 orders that did not get filled and the new 06's. It is up to your dealer to prioritize yours and use his allocation to get the unfilled orders ASAP.

How did you get your serialization notice? Did the dealership call you?

 

Call your sales rep every couple of weeks check the system. Or you can tell him to check it once a week and send you an email/call you for an update on the status of your order.

 

Yep I went down there to talk to him about some things, he checked and it was on there. I went through Military car sales, and they have a website where you can check the status of your order but it still hasn't been updated! So just harass your dealer would be my plan.

 

My '06 is still scheduled to be built week of 8/8. So I would say that this rumor is

Nothing new here. Following year models always hit the dealers at the end of September to go on sale the 1st of October.

I heard that Ford was going to give all '05 owners an '06 for nothing.
You have to call the ERL and sweet talk her though.
