My daily status gave me a message that the 06 GT I ordered would be changed form "no prices avaialble" to CO9 coding, "Pricing Avaialble". it still does not show up in our ordering system or price guides but i figured I'd just tease everyone.
Hopefully in the next day or so they will be live. I will be on a business trip from noon today until late tomorrow so i will check on Fri 1st thing.

I know this is a touchy subject, but for Ford's bottom line, I wouldn't be surprised (if they were smart) if they up'd the price a couple thousand. Even if they up'd the price $2,000, I'll bet they would still sell out on the GT just b/c of looks and performance. I feel the heat coming on so I'll start it

[IT'S NOW LIVE ON CONCEPTS.

I have an 06 GT Premium equipped:

5-speed
wheel locks
IUP
64E 18" machined wheels ( 825 msrp / 735 cost )
anti theft
int color accent

MSRP $ 28,790.00
Invoice $ 26,716.84

Let the orders begin.

Base MSRP is $ 26320 [compared to price level 565 at 26,135]

So it looks like a very minimal price increase.

I already posted my pics of my 05 GT vert.

The Tungsten 06 I ordered is avaialble for sale to the 1st one who wants to put down a minimal deposit. I would guess it will be the 1st one we get scheduled when orders are pulled for the 06 model year. Obviously changes can be made to the order at this point.

Here's another couple pics of my vert though. Notice the cloud reflections, car was just clay bar'd and waxed with mother's.

If 06 is anything like 05 was, there will be gradual increases every so often. Best to get the order in early and nail down the price advantage as well as getting into the pipeline for eventual production scheduling.

Ed - along the lines of ordering 06s -- if a dealer sells a certain number of 05 Mustangs and the factory increases output for 06 - does that dealer automatically get additional allocation for 06??? Just curious how it works.

IMO I don't think that we will see anything beyond typical year to year price increases from this point out. Ford wanted the car to make a big splash and was conservative in pricing to make sure this would occur. Since that time Ford has adjusted the price wisely IMO to make certain that they aren't leaving any money on the table all the while keeping the Mustang a good deal.

However, a 2k increase in pricing would be a long-term mistake as that would make a base Mustang GT a 28k dollar car. At that price point this car becomes less of a bargain for sure and would almost certainly have ill-effects in long term sales and popularity of the GT. Ford wants this car to remain a best seller and IMO is smart enough to know better than to increase pricing so much that this wont happen.

WOW $735 dealer cost on the fanblades....doesn't that seem pretty steep for OEM rims?

maybe it's just me....

Hello
I am new to this forum and I need to ask a question of those of you who have been here a while. It is my understanding that a while back a purchaser of the new mustang and member of this forum ran into the same thing that I have run into. Apparently this purchaser was Ford-plan eligible and had purchased a Mustang through a Detriot area dealership using his plan. At lhe last moment the dealership attempted to force him to take "mandatory dealer options" at unbelievable mark-up in an effort to increase dealer profit. Is anyone aware of who this memeber might be or aware of this situation. I need to speak with him/her as the same thing has happened to me and I would like as much ammunition as possible before I go to Ford with the complaint. Thanks.

I'm very impressed with my sales rep at my dealer... he called my cell phone today to let me know pricing was available (I was so busy today I didn't get on here till just now to see this thread) I was at a clients, but was able to have a brief talk with him. He converted my April 05 order to an 06 officially. Said their dealership was waiting til today to place any 06 orders... so mine will be the first order for them. wOOt!

I don't get it, these darn dealers down here in s. florida don't want to sell a car! I've been to about 5 dealers and none have any idea or any info on the 06'. Only one gave me the order guide on sunday but said he'd have no clue as to when the pricing guide would be out. One told me the pricing guide will come out mid July! Does this info vary by region?

Just ordered an 06 V6. The info I have is that any price increases will be 2 - 5% depending on what you order.

I got a price quote of an X-plan 06 yesterday from my dealer, I called him today and he said yes, they have prices.

ISELLFORD:

So just so I am clear...is this Concepts site an internal site that all Ford dealers should now about. I know in the past you have talked about "forcing the system" to show you certain things. Is getting the price through Concepts the same deal, or should this just be a very simple thing that my dealer will be able to do easily as well?
Not that I don't have a lot of faith with my guy, I just don't know how savvy he is with the internet site.
Thanks

CONCEPS is Ford's dealer system that allows us to order, spec, track, etc.. vehicles. If your dealer has at least 1 car in inventory he must be familiar with the system.

Is there a way to post the price list, or is it "confidential"?

I would like to print it out at home, rather than go to my dealer and have them give me the confused look they always seem to give.

Thanks
