Thumbs up

man id really love to go out and order my 05 GT in WB and dark charcoal....but im somewhat hesitant as to me getting my xplan (alot of dorky dealers not wanting to touch me for that) and because of these tiny little bugs...like after 1,000 miles or less sometimes the CEL comes on due to the ignition i think it was? and im always hesitant on 1st years of new model cars for them to work out the kinks....the new 05 GT is freakin awesome the way it is and has come along way from its almost now ancient SN95 2nd gen brethern....im kinda thinking to wait to the point where i can order an 06 GT....anyone know aprox. when theyll start making the 06 models or taking pre-orders for those? i know base invoice on a 05 GT is about 22k...and id want to get it for around that price because im not looking for anything fancy...just 4.6L motor/5spd/body....id like to have leather but i dont think i could because id have to go thru the IUP or have it be a premium gt? it stinks that we cant mix and match options like back in the 60s where EVERY stang then was basically an individual

ps - anyone know how long the WB color will actually last on ford's lineup...because darn i want that color soo bad lol

Go through the Order Guide on this site and sea what comes with what and what each package includes or requires, it seems you might be a little confused on that.

I would recommend that you Purchase Your Mustang from the Dealer to whom you would want to Service It! If you ever Have a Problem with the car it gives you Leverage to Get it Fixed Quickly! Also Cars Purchased via the Internet and Picked Up at a Dealer Leaves a Bad Taste in the Dealerships Mouth when it comes time to Ask for a favor! If you Have a Concern right about the Time Your Warranty Expired they are More Likely to Help You if you are a Loyal Customer! Shop some Dealers get the best deal in writing and Then Take you Best Deal to The Dealer you TRUST to Service your Baby and Finalize the Deal! FYI Out here in California Many but not All Dealers will Not d or x-plan Mustangs right now! Also many are Marking up as High as $4000.00 on v6 and 5000.00 on GT's. Oh by the Way I work at a FLM Dealer as a Parts Manager! Got my Gt D-Plan but would Have Paid Sticker Gladly!!!!!!!

I am curiuos as to when the 06's will be available to order also. I haven't kept up with Ford's way of doing things for many many years.

...and it's only because of the '05 Mustang!

So, if anybody can provide a reasonable guestimate, I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks

They opened the banks for the '05 in early summer. I would guess august for the '06s...as long as they have orders, they will keep producing them. I doubt they will change many things between '05 and '06. Just the bugs, and those they will change on the way through. I wouldn't expect a "refresh" until '07 or '08 atleast.

Maybe they'll have some other options too. Like maybe a different grill option in the front for the GT for those that don't like the fog lights. And maybe different (larger) wheels for the V6?

yea...major reason why i wont order an 05 now is due to the recent bugs.... tranny tunnel noise, rear end noises, 1 guy having his engine pulled by his idle jumping everywhere, all these CELs w\under 1500 miles....just isnt right...i really dont get it...if a company puts a darn car out, and they set it up w\alllll these freakin tests...wouldnt u think theyd get most of the stuff done since they had sooo much time to test these cars??? god... even tho i love american cars...ok well definently not dodge they stink in reliability...and somewhat not GM....they need to take a hint at reliability and quality like import cars...jeeze....

don't think that imports don't have their share of problems too. this is a complete redesign, and ish happens.... They'll work it out. It just takes time... as with all manufacturers.

As far behind as Ford is on the 05's There will Probably be a Bunch of 05's on the Lots Right Before the 06's Hit! Might find some Bargains Then!

Leather and IUP have nothing to do with each other. You can get a car with cloth and IUP or you can get a car with leather an no IUP, or any other combonation.

Yup, the edmunds article did get that part wrong. You can also get just the leather/aluminum wheel option on any model too. I think that looks great with the grey and tan interiors, without the aluminum dash.
