One other gripe though, the dot matrix on all the rear windows will make it a nightmare to tint the windows. I think dark tinted windows look cheap and was not going to bother anyway, but good luck for film tint fans.
Is that on the inside of the glass? Or embedded in it? If it's "on the outside" I bet it's nothing a good set of razor scrapers couldn't fix... I mean, if I really wanted the tint to look good... I can do it. I bet. I think. Maybe. Hmm...

/has to get one first.

Thanks for the great review! I hope a lot of our younger members with smaller bank-rolls will read this.

I'd intended to get a different hood for my GT, but maybe I don't need to!

nah its darn pretty. pics do the hood and rear quarter panel curves no justice. :headbang: There is much better ways to spend $600 bucks then taking off a beautifull aluminum hood and swapping it out with a rippled plastic one with a non functional bulge. May as well just put a carbon fiber one on to rice it out at that point.

Absolute great write up Kevin, I enjoyed reading that very much. I've ordered a v6, and reading something like this gives me alot of reasurance that it is going to be well worth the wait.

As for colors, not to offend any fans of any color but I would love to have been on the board deciding them.
I'm glad you didn't, I love the beige interior .....I've had grey and black interiors forever in most of my vehicles both foreign and domestic....that has gotten boring.

Oh and I have a big hairy tan dog

great write-up on the v6...can't wait to take one out for a spin...the biggest plus to the 05 platform is the placement of the engines...they're further back in the engine bay, that's why they "feel" lighter during a turn, they're better balanced...very important in a rwd platform. jack 90seville 95k

I believe the noise from the exhaust was intended that way by Ford as they had complaints from previous mustang owners that their V6 mustangs did not have a beefy motor sound. If you read the preproduction information sheet this is exactly what it says. Personally, I would not be worried about the sound. Turn up the stereo or by a luxury car.

Like I said, the few people shopping for V6's specifically all liked the sound. Im just so used to bassani exhausts on V8's I said I'm biased.

Kev,

helluva write-up. Always like to hear that the bread 'n butter feels more like a car and less like a comprimise (i.e. shoulda got the V8)! I was never particularly happy with my 99 V6 performance wise. Looked like a million bux, handled well, but didn't exactly inspire my right foot. Sounds like Ford's come a long way....

I also like the beige interior especially on the torch red that sixty six showed us in another forum. Just my $.02

Thanks for the detailed writeup Kevin.

But, I also have to disagree with your assessment of the beige interior. With the IUP and a dark exterior color, I think it looks great. I drove a black GT with the beige IUP interior at the L.A. Innovation drive in Sept., and thought it looked very nice. No changing for me, as my car is arriving any day now.

Nice to see someone finally give a review on the V6! I'd love a GT but the budget just won't allow me to get one unless its stripped to bare bones. The review is about on par with what I thought it would be like... And a little better

I think that a beige CLOTH interior shows dirt rather quickly, but beige leather is another story entirely.
