Hello All,
I am a 1st time Mustang owner & I have fallen in love! I have a Mineral Grey '05 V6 & I am currently getting ready to do the GT exterior "transformation". I love the look but couldn't afford the GT $$$. I have the front bumber, grill, fogs, lighting harness that attaches to the fogs, "rocker panels that go along the side of the car, Rear bumper, GT mufflers, "Pony" seats, bullitts & Pirellis.
I haven't the slightest clue what else I need to complete this transformation (bought this stuff from casco). I want to take the entire lot to a local shop & have them transform it over the weekend. I know some of this has probably been posted before, but not in it's entirety. Specifically, I'm looking for other parts I need to acquire prior to taking this in. I have also been looking at using aftermarket dual exhaust, but not sure which direction to go in. Like I said, before this car, I've NEVER known anything about cars. Any and ALL advice would be greatly appreciated. I've already put the wheels & tires on but that's about it.
Thanks,
TIM

bummer you didnt catch my post before buying your car...I know someone selling a mineral grey V6 thats already done.....but if you already have all the parts why dont you just put it all on yourself its really not that hard the hardest part will be putting the exhaust on only because I am assuming you dont have a lift to get the car way into the air, but if you get even those ramps to roll it up on it will make it that much easier to get underneath the car and move around, I did min while it was just sitting on the ground.....the swap from what Ive seen on the V6 for sell is a simple bolt on with the stock GT pipes.....and the tires and wheels you will need to take somewhere to get them propperly balanced...the only thing you are missing is the GT side emblem and the rear trunk emblem, if all you are looking for is the looks.....but PLEASE DO NOT PUT THOSE ON......YOU OWN A V6 ITS NOT A GT, but if you want the looks to each their own we cant stop you.

Tim,
Don't let anyone make you feel bad about how you go about what you do to your ride, after all it IS YOUR CAR!! If you need instructions or help just PM me and I will help any way I can. I just finished Gertie's repairs and this is how she looks. I made up the wiring harness and used all Ford original parts. The only hook s getting to program the vehicles "Smart Junction Box" to make it think is has fog lamps installed.

you missed the joke he said "COSTCO" they sell things in bulk, its a wherehouse style grocery store/sears they have everything, including cheaper gas, not sure about cars though, but it wouldnt surprise me and they do have an automotive section.

should be able to get everything installed at a reputable body shop. There was a write up about putting the dual exhaust on a V-6 in the V-6 performance area of the site, think the guy paid like $140 to have a y pipe put in and bought extra hanger hardware through ford.
Good luck and have fun with it.

SO not looking for the GT badges! I have a 6 & am proud of it. Love the duel exhaust look & fogs. It's a shame the 05 didnt have the "pony" package option...

installing the passenger side muffler is easy. as far as the swapping out of the front fascia and rear bumper should be able to find someone to do it in your town, maybe call your dealer and see who they use if they dont have a body shop.
Did you get the wiring harness and foglight switch as well?

Don't have the factory fog swithch. Thinking about running a new dedicated switch through the "dummy" panel where MyColor controls would've been. I want to have the ability to turn the fogs & heqadlights on independantly. I think it'll set it apart. SO, I'm looking for a sleek, low-key switch/buttom for the fogs. Any links/pics would be appreciated. By the way, I DO have the wiring harness.
Thanks,
TIM
