The Great American Pony Drive is arriving in VA over the next couple of days. Just a question for those who have hit related stops in your cities.

Is the 05 always with the Pony Drive at stops or does it go to a dealership nearby or is it only around some of the time??

They are due in Richmond tomorrow but after checking with the club sponsoring the stop they don't have info on whether the 05 will be at the official stop they are making here. I'll be there with bells on (and video and digital cam ) if the 05 will be there but it doesn't sound like its necessarily expected.

Thanks for any info!

Hey GMAYS & kevinb120

I hope the 05 does come to Richmond tomorrow. I can't think of anything better than having it here as the Pony Drive arrives. But, I have not heard anything about the 05 being in Richmond.

I hope it does come to town

They came close to me... about an hour and a half... but I didn't even know about it or this forum until weeks later. Sucks being me. But, like some have said who saw it/sat in it... almost better if they hadn't. Just makes the time you have to wait so much harder. Can't even imagine it getting any harder.

95SVTCOBRA - Hey Tony, I'm the "lurker" who posted on the CVMC site and you answered earlier today. I'm going to head to the SMV tomorrow and hope you'll be escorting the 05 in along with the rest of the ponys!!! B)

KEVINB120 - Did you see it in Manassas at your dealership or was it hanging out with the GAPD ponys and the host club???

Ever hopefull to see the 05!!!!

It wasnt at my dealer, manassas is down the road about 8 miles. They all stay together for the pony drive. What sucked is that they put up a lousy dj RIGHT next to the car so it friggin gave you a headache to stay around it. :bang:

Bummer. They didn't need a DJ, should have just had the 05 at idle hooked up to the PA with an occasional "blip" on the throttle!!! Now that's music for a pony car fan!!

Look the bananas are dancin to the sweet pushrod V8 music!!!

I researched the 2005 Mustang Tour to find out when and where it was coming near me (CT) and it was tough to nail it down. As far as I can tell, a schedule is not published anywhere. I called Ford Customer Service and, although the woman was very helpful, when she called me back after a half hour or so of research she could not provide any details. I basically found it by googling "2005 Mustang Tour" and reading some press releases on it. I then confirmed the location with the local Mustang club that was hosting the show it was to be at.

When I asked a guy with the 2005 Tour why no one at Ford knew about it, he told me that Ford had used an outside marketing company to do the tour.

As far as I know, it is scheduled to appear in 14 cities that coincide with the Pony Drive II. But, that is not to say that the '05 will be everywhere the Pony Drive is.

The press release http://www.wxix.com/Global/story.asp?S=1891810 I found had contact names at the bottom. Two appear to be from outside of Ford. If you have no other options, you may try giving them a call.

If you can get to see it, it is worth the time.

My website has some photos of the stop in Hackensack:

Yeah! I have still not seen an 05 redfire gt in person yet. At the NAIAS we had the silver, I'd really like to see the 05 redfire in person

The Pony Drive was at our dealership on Tuesday and they did not have the 05 with them. It is only present at certain locations. The participants are not driving it. Ford has a display that they bring to planned events. Here is the site.
Pony Drive
Unfortunately it does not say where the 05 will be.
