My Mustang club got word that the '05 Mustang(!!), Five Hundred and Freestlye will be available (to look at and sit in - no rides) August 3rd.. starting at 5:00 pm at the Rose Garden.

They are also looking for classic Mustangs and Fords to be apart of a car show that will be going on at the same time.

By the way, if you are in the Portland/Vancouver area, the club I belong to has their annual Mustang Stampede on July 31st at the Vancouver Quay.

UPDATE!!!!!!!! UPDATEE!!!!!!!!

I believe that the event for August 3rd is still on - BUT the 05 Mustang will definately be at the '05 Mustang will be at the "The 18th Annual Mustang Stampede & All Ford Show" on July 31, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Vancouver Landing in Vancouver, Washington.

The "18th Annual Mustang Stampede & All Ford Show" is hosted by the Mustangs Unlimited Car Club of Vancouver, Washington. The Stampede will include over 200 Mustangs and Fords on display, Prize Raffles, Trophies, food vendors, parts swap meet and music.

Spectators are free; car show entries are $10.00. All proceeds will be donated to the Gales Creek Diabetic Camp for Kids.

Ford will be there with their tractor-trailer containing the 2005 Mustang, the Five-Hundred and the Free Style. Mustang vehicle development manager Mark Rushbrook will answer media and enthusiasts’ questions about the new model (Don’t worry – I’ll ask what the first SE will be!)

"Although, my wife is a bit worried since we just vought a 2004 that there may be a new car transaction in the near near future, especially after seeing the 05 GT in Legend Lime!!!"

Excellent StangerT!! Our club was really excited about this show even BEFORE our club's VP managed to wrangle the new '05 Mustang into showing up. The show is in a neat location and it should be alot of fun!! And you would not believe some of the raffle prizes we have this year - and all proceeds go to a good cause!

And I'm not sure if there is an actual "schedule" of "Car of the Year" stops (I've never seen one). I believe the big trailer is just making its way around the country and the PR people try and generate interest by notifying the local media and working the local cars clubs to get Mustangs together to help show off the new '05.

StangerT,
Have you ordered your car yet? What local dealer? Meridian Ford, Litha, or out at the Idaho Center Auto Mall? Good Luck.

Thank you for posting this multimediageek! I live in Vancouver (near Van Mall) and will definitely be out after class on Saturday (from 1 to 4 B) ). I can't believe that Mustang 05 managed it's way to our little corner of the country but it'll be great.

Especially being able to see all the stangs.

Yeah, mid-80's and nothing but clear skys for the whole thing. I'll definitely join up with Mustangs Unlimited when I buy mine probably around April-June of 05.

Alas all I'll be able to afford is the v6 (overall price, and Insurance will hold me back form the 8) but I'll have one none the less.

multimediaG... I was not a strong young grasshoppa... I broke down and bought a 04 sonic blue coupe last month... however, it may be a short ownership depending on now getting to actually see the 05 in person soon. After seeing the shots of the legend lime GT... (I love my sonic blue), but I went nuts when I caught the pics of that GT attached to the interview w/galaxie and Dan!!!

I am really excited to take the 04 on it's 1st road trip :drive:

I bought both our vehicles, "and will buy all my vehicles" at Dan Wiebold Ford, they are a really great dealership.

Are you going to be displaying a car in the show?

Stad - Excellent!! The club is full of nice people and although they particpate in alot of events - but they all work really hard on this car show! I have a feeling with the 05' Mustang showing up - it is going to be REAL big!! But all proceeds go to charity so it is worth the work!! And the v6 is cool!! I have a feeling our club may have a line of new Mustangs for next year's show!

StangerT - Yes!! My husband and I will be there with the deep moss green 1967 Shelby GT500. Next year my husband hopes to have his project car - a 1967 fastback all finished and in the show. Thats how he sold me on the Shelby (although he didn't need to) - he said I could drive the fastback to car shows - he even bought a power steering unit to put in so that I can turn the wheels. You should enter your new car in the show - there is a category for it and it means you can park your car inside the show - not somewhere in a north 40 lot. Only $10 and you get a dash plaque!! (If you are in the first 150 cars).

And its nice to hear there is a Ford dealer that someone trusts to buy from - too bad it's so far away from us!! My husband and I have daily drivers are a '89 and a '90 models (both Fords) - we haven't needed a new car. I'm leary of buying a new car - but I know not to pay more then the MSRP. We have been waiting years for the '05 - but we may wait a little longer and see what '06 brings (hopefully a Mach 1 SE)!!

And for those of you who still enjoy all the pics they can get, I will have my digital camera to take shots of which ever 05 Ford decides to send to the Stampede

WOW nice car you guys have Adrienne, congrats!!!
I might do that... (may win the car with the most bug guts category!)

My wife and I also own a 66 coupe, that I usually enter in local shows, but I am
sortof afraid to take her that far.

I will look for the Shelby! Can't wait for the show!

Just got home from our 429 mile jaunt to go see the 05. There is not much more I can say about the car that has not already been said.... It's unreal! It's beautiful!! The pictures that have been posted on the site have been super, but none of them do the car justice, I could not stop staring at it! People just went crazy when the car arrived (by police escort), and I am sure I left a little drool behind myself!!!

I will be posting a few pics I took tomorrow, "I actually got to sit in it!!!"

Also, hat's off the the Mustangs Unlimited club in Vancouver WA, they put on a heck of a show... talked to a few of the group members, they are top notch, great people!!

Now, all I have to do is figure out when to sell the 04!

Gotta go  12 1/2 hours of driving since Friday... I know what I will be dreaming of tonight, she's legend lime, and sitting in my driveway...
